Ban me if you have to, but wasnt the messageboard invented for just the purpose of people being able to yell at each other.First off, since I received 4 IM's from people about it, why exactly was spoon banned for life. !, he didnt really attack anyone til he was attacked, he was just commenting. 2, he was only banned once, so even still, it should be no more then a one month banning. And how come Moe has never been banned, despite taking part in many of those fights. Both or none, thats the only right way.Aside from that, what happened. No one seems to even be allowed to comment negatively on actual topics in the thread, even when it doesnt attack a person. Everything has become way to tight and its really killing alot of the fun. 90% of the stuff we used to do on here for fun isnt allowed anymore. To top that off, everyone get's offended now cause no one is aloud to be mean as a goof. When everyone was busting balls, no one ever got that mad. Now it's seriously getting to the point where soon we won't be able to say shit. Go ahead and lock it, i'm not looking for a fight, some things just needed to be said. And seriously, ban spoon for a week, a month, fine, but damn you dont ban moe for a second and spoon is gone forever. That really seems like it makes sense?

If you were going to ban posters in that thread, there were certainly those more deserving than Spoon. I mean, he clearly was trying to hold to the board rules and stopped when he learned he was supposed to.

If the thread has been moved to the Staff Room and all the mods get a chance to read it, I'm positive they'll rethink their position on spoon.If not,  the inmates are running the asylum.I just wanted to get my 2 cents in before this is locked or made to vanish.

i tried to talk to a mod. Spoon doesnt have AIM, only AIM express, so he couldnt do anything or say anything. I tried but im not aloud to discuss other people's bannings. It isn't even spoon. Just in general everything around here has seemed a little uptight, almost a little too much policing, and to a point its tended to change the feel and fun of posting

I just got to read it, and it's really BS. Spoon posted once, Moe jumped at him, he jumped back. Why has moe never gotten in trouble. Shit in general there are posters on this board who do way worse then that and never get banned. Some do worse then spoon and dont get banned. INSANE

There was baiting and instigation.  Someone got involved when they had no business being involved.  Someone also displayed an attitude that they had been called on previously in the thread, interestingly enough.  No one should have been banned in this situation.

If anything they both shopuld be put on a vacation (not lifetime ban!). Neither one ever seems interested in letting it die. Banning one is extremely unfair.EDIT: Plus, Spoon got banned for personal attacks. Moe called Snoogans and others liars in that thread, even after Jon's warning. Is that not a personal attack?

I'm not defending spoon for being banned or suggesting that it should have been done. Though if you have been told numerous times to not go after a particular person why even comment on anything they say, just ignore him. There's plenty of people who I could care less about on the board. I don't attack them or comment on things they post, I just go past them and read other posts.

That has to go for both of them though.  To be honest I didn't even see what Moe did, so I don't know if he did something to instigate this. I'm familiar with the thread that this happened in, and I knew that spoon was warned in the past about going after Moe. I'll have to review the thread again I guess.

I skipped most of bickering posts in that thread, because I wasn't interested in their fight. After looking at it a few minutes ago, I agree that the contents of the fight in that thread weren't that bad. On the other hand, I was getting tired of seeing posts in other threads that had no purpose, other than to bitch about Moe. That said, I still don't think a lifetime ban is warranted. Maybe when people constantly bitch about other posters for no real reason, there should be more short term "vacations". Maybe even 48 hour "sit in the corner" status...

I can't believe I'm advocating this, but the one thing that the board sorely lacks is an ignore function.  I know it's high comedy coming from me of all people, but I think it could work.Moe does have a habit of posting in a lot of threads just to say he doesn't care... and that kind of posting, while within his rights, is needless and does incite a lot of people against him. An ignore function could nip it in the bud.

I'm pretty sure spoon and I have never agreed on anything before, but to be honest that doesn't matter in the slightest. His banning is the biggest bunch of bullshit I have ever seen go on in the history of my tenure here. The way mods handled this situation is just sad. I hardly EVER comment on board drama, as a matter of fact I may never have but you mods really need to look yourselves in the mirror and question yourselves. Your actions speak volumes about the type of people you are, don't make the wrong decision. If the board continues to operate like this, you'll lose a lot more posters than just spoon.

Ok, I know I'm new to this board but come on this is bullshit. I just read that toyota thread and dont see how spoon was banned? To me it seems like this moe character is such an instigater. Even when it seems like an issue is dropped he brings it back with a smart ass remark. Its like he has to get the last word. Sppon responded to the thread after moe was instigating and fighting with 3 or 4 people in that thread. Yet Spoon gets banned and even after spoons ban moe continued to be a smart ass to the others that he was fighting with. I dont know what all the rules are on the site, but what about free speach? If someone isnt threatning someone, like they are going to go to that persons house then whats the big deal? People should be able to speak their minds on here. If someone doesnt like it then they shouldnt come on. I didnt read anything were a physical fight was going to happen. So words online mean dick. Especially when it was provoked and wasnt just one sided.It seems to be a power trip on here. Which is utter bullshit. I hate people like that. Ive had some knockout fights with both guys and have no problem with either guy these days.  A lifetime ban seems a bit harsh - however I do not know the whole situation.There could be some things we dont know about that - justifies his banning.  My guess is its not so much the toyota thread - but a build up of complaints and warnings against Spoon? That thread just pushed it over.  Its a shame becuz despite our past - both guys bring a lot to the board and I enjoy  reading their thoughts. As much as I want details, its not my biz. If/When I get banned I hope the details are not made public.  This is obviously between RonFez.net and Spoon now. Hey remeber? we're all Ron and Fez listeners. I have to say this about bannings from a messageboard. Unless you are putting up someones address, and telephone number and telling people to harrass, assault or kill someone, there is no need to ban someone for life for expressing themselves. Some people use this place as an outlet to let off some steam from all the foibles that life throws at them. Some People use humor, some people use logic and some people use antagonism. But an argument is an argument and that is all that it is. I dont honestly see someone walking away from their comp after getting into a "heated" argument on here all pissed off and ready to field goal their dog (or cat) and punch their significant other in the face. If there is someone who does, they will Godwillingly be locked away as soon as they should or recieve two in the back of the head from a neighbor. That is a whole nother argument though. This is a place to express oneself, and as long as no one is getting killed and the most venomous things are barbs thrown at each other only to be forgotten as soon as one walks away from their comp. Well so be it. I know there are standards, but we cant have standards for one, and leniencies for others. It is one way all the way for everybody. Everybody on here is a generally cool cat, and yes they bitch and moan, and tend to be full of piss and vinegar in some threads. Ohhh well. As corny and cliche it is: "Life is too mother fucking short." And as long as we dont read about people from this board monkey stomping the piss out of each other then oh well. Banning for life is just silliness.

the other side and everyone else seems to think that he is being unfairly
protected by one of his mod-friends, he feels it justified. It's also ironic how
Moe is constantly posting that he is "done" with a thread but clearly cannot
stand to not get the last word in - and yet is saying that he is not the one
who can't leave well enough alone and that keeps going back even when
told to stop. Oh well. I say put both Moe and Spoon on two week vacations
and then just keep putting them on vacations every time they - or anyone
else - starts shit. And let's be honest: sure, a lot of times it is people
responding to Moe just posting "I don't care" in a thread (don't you? then
why post?), but we also all recognize the passive aggressive crap that Moe's
been pulling for thousands and thousands of posts now. I'm going to
continue to have faith that all this will turn out right in the end.

In a way I feel that both should be banned because Jon had said in the thread no more fighting from here on and yet it continued. Whether you were defending yourself or not you should have stopped and moved on. I like you Moe and I also like Spoon, I don't have any problems with either person though I would only suggest ignoring each other for the future should Spoons ban be adjusted or lifted. In no way do I think the banning on either should be for life, but perhaps a week to cool off or something.

When Spoony zeros in on someone - It almost feels like he goes out of his way to "stalk" whoever he has a beef with and doesnt know when to put the brakes on. But thats spoon. After 2 or 3 fights with the guy - I was hip to what he does and actually found his posts entertaining when I stopped taking his shit so personal.  Moe hates D&M and never has a problem speaking his mind weather it's popular or not - but THATS Moe.  I was getting sick of Moe explaining in every D&M thread how much he hated Don and Mike - but I never tried to fight him about it. I ignored it.  And even would joke about it from time to time.  Moe is one of the best posters here IMHO.   Everyones different.  If u have a beef with someone - pass em by.  Life is too short to fight. Especially with other RF listeners. We should be 1.

You want to talk about the real fucking world? I'm out there
every day in the community handling various crisises- sometimes life
threathening. When a person is acting psychotic (wether they're crazy
or on drugs)......who do the police or screeners defer to (or ask for
advice) when me or one of my team mates is on the scene? A person is
acting suicidal/homicidal.....who's there trying to handle that
situation before it gets out of hand. I've been in many situations
where I could be in danger myself. But it's what I do. So don't give me
that real world argument. Sometimes cooler heads have to prevail. You
don't want to be in a crisis situation making the situation worse.
Enough about me.  I think Spoon and Moe contribute some good things to the board. They both have they're strengths and weaknesses. But WE ALL do. The
Mods have their hands full and they do alot to keep the board enjoyable
for everyone wether posters believe it or not. It's not an easy job and
mostly it's unrewarding. But yet they do what they need to do to keep
the board alive.So let's just get back to posting. <blockquote />
