Jokes aside, the phone thing was just screwing off. This is for real. I've been listening for a couple of years and still haven't figured out what it means when someone calls in and says a series of numbers and then says "Checkin in." It's catchy, but drives me nuts not knowing what it is.

i'm not sure what's it's all about but it's pretty rude when after the caller says "checking in" they call the caller a whore...

The thing I haven't figured out is what the numbers mean the caller says prior to that. I've been a listner since around 02 and I'm at a loss when I hear that phrase, "Checkin in." Throw me a rope.

that is just what the fans who are employees of hotels. Both Ron and Fez (and J-Dubs too) used to work at hotels and Ron used to always say the first thing he would say to people when he ran into them on the streets was "checking in?" instead of hello, because that's what he was so used to saying at work. So it became a thing and now every caller who at one time has worked in a hotel says that when they call to t let Ron know they are "brothers in arme" so to speak....and in return he gives them hoo-ahh to recognize his comrades. It's kind of like the Marines....but different.

Your welcome, don't mention it.

it was a joke from the WNEW days, where callers would call in to see who jad the highest balance in their bank account, and say "checking in" or "savings in" etc.

whoever had the lowest amount won whatever the prize was that week. they don't do the prizes anymore, but some people still bring it up.
