I was duped... I was duped by the trailer, and by Adam Sandler's previous record. This was up there, near the very top of my list for un-originality. This movie is basically Christmas Carol, done again with a high-tech twist. He hung out with Morty (Christoper Walken) who was basically the ghost of christmas past, and future rolled up into one. Aside from that, all the gags were telegraphed from a mile away. Obvious, is the best word to use here.

I'm surprised that Adam Sandler is in something this awful. Typically the movies he's done have really had a spark of originality. Waterboy, 50 first dates, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and the list goes on. I just don't have the slightest idea what he was thinking here.

There were two basic saving graces here keeping it from being the very bottom of the barrel 1) Christopher Walken is always funny, especially when he's doing the over-the-top Christopher Walken caricature. 2) Kate Beckinsale is very easy on the eyes, even made up as an old broad.

Sure, there were a couple of chuckles here, but definately not nearly on par with anything else I've ever seen from Happy-Madison Productions.

Ouch.

There was an episode of Amazing Stories in the 80s with the exact same premise.

Wasnt that movie originally called "Stay Tuned"...starring John Ritter? Magical remote control has been done. Sandler lost me with 50 First Dates and then really lost me with Spanglish. Why doesnt he just make sequels to Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore?

What the fuck, I just watched this for the first time on Starz! and I'm so fucking depressed. I was expecting a fun Happy Madison movie, instead I get half of that and the other half was just plain sad.
I can only imagine the reaction this piece of shit got in the theaters.

i think it actually did really well, probably because it wasn't the regular goofball sandler comedy. i liked it, it had it's moments. but it fucking was depressing as shit at times. overall i think it was an ok movie. i just saw zohan last night. i was laughing at all of the random little things that he likes to throw into movies. i enjoyed it, but it really was way over the top even for sandler.
