Going to go out on a limb here and say how much I've enjoyed the shows lately. Not that I haven't before (I have been accused being a homer/pollyana), but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't sense the tension on the show that had been mentioned on here the last little bit of time. I am always one to let things ride on and play out and know things work out for the best, but when they came back from vacation and things seemed more tense, I really began to wring my hands like an old woman.

In any event, since the big-ass/no-a.c. blow up from 2 weeks ago, the show has been knocking it out of the park daily. Partly because of the phones working, partly because Fezzie is engaged in the show from top to bottom again, partly because better callers are getting through - the show is just kicking my ass again, in a good way, and I love it. Earl is not sitting on his tongue, but having conversations again; Dave cracks me up whenever he's on, and they seem to find a balance where the haters don't freak out. Hell, aside from that odd shout-out to another website and the fact he never seems to get what's going on this show, IndieMike's brief calls don't even bug me.

I'm not surprised, but I am relieved that those cringe shows from a couple of weeks ago were the exception - I only hope that Earl really did burn them.

no, it's not reincarnation. Reincarnation is the coming back. You don't come back via the pagan's beliefs. You die, you become compost and are plant food. That's it. Your soul doesn't get put back into another vessel to live out another life in. That's reincarnation.

kinda sounds like "ash to ash, dust to dust" as well˙

yes, that's where the catholics assimilated it from

but reincarnation and the circle of life are not even related. Not even remotely.

Reincarnation is the soul leaves the body, goes to try and merge with "the one". It isn't ready. It is sent back to earth to be reborn in a new vessel. Cat, Dog, Bird, human, whatever.

Pagans I dont think even believe in a soul. They may, but they don't have a heaven or hell. I'm not sure about this aspect. But they don't believe your soul comes back in another body. At least the pagan religions I have been exposed to.

A common theme between some food network people and the Anthony Bourdain books Ive read seem to be that its fine to like what you like but you should experience what else is out there. I dont think alton was criticizing the fez likes Domino's, I think it was more his reluctance to try something else.

alton wasn't the best interview, some might even say it stunk. I'm sure there's a few out there.

It makes sense, Bourdain's life is a freaking adventure. Im in the middle of "Nasty Bits" right now and his stories are just great.
