New rubber sidewalks easier on the joints

WASHINGTON - Pounding the pavement is getting a little easier on people's knees in many cities around the country. For reasons of safety and ease of maintenance, Washington and dozens of other communities are installing rubber sidewalks made of ground-up tires.

for some reason i think i would like walking on a rubber sidewalk and really feel it could put a little bounce in your step. it's a shame it has to be much more expensive than concrete to put in but it looks like over time it may save money. plus it may cut down on lawsuits where people that fall may not get as hurt or hurt at all

I went to the Tisch Childrens' Zoo in Central Park yesterday and the ground
inside is all like that. It was awesome after an afternoon of walking
sidewalks in totally worn out and non-supportive flip flops.

i think it would make me want to just start running. it's like walking out onto a track, some tracks that i believe are made from similar material. you get a little pumped and feel like running a sprint and jumping some hurdles...

plus at my age it will provide a level of safety as i trip on the hurdle and land on my face

That would be pretty bad. It would be all black, melting in the sun. If you fell you'd get second degree burns.
Anyone ever been to one of those playgrounds that have shredded tires all over the place? I took my kid to one about 8 years ago. I hope they don't exist anymore. They're really creepy.
