She's 15 years old and has a lump down on her pelvic region. It's right around her hip bone and it's gotten bigger. It's not visible but she can feel it. I don't really know what it could be but I'm worried. She goes to the doctor tomorrow and I really hope to hear some good news.

So, if anyone could maybe add some words of wisdom or try to calm my nervous self it would be greatly appreciated. And if you could keep her in your thoughts and prayers I would also appreciate it and I know she would to.

if you could keep her in your thoughts and prayers I would also appreciate it and I know she would to.

Done and done.

As for making you feel better... This probably won't help you, but just try to think positive. Dwelling on the negative can only cause stress that could harm you. Since you mentioned prayer, pray for her, then try to comfort yourself with the fact that your prayers will help.

Don't worry until you have to. It could be a lot of things! Swollen lymph
node, whatever. Even if it's something "bad", finding it so quickly and
getting to the doctor so soon is really really good - and she's young! These
are all positives!

I hope she turns out ok. As long as she gets it checked out though, that's a good thing.

I'm sure she's really worried about it. Maybe you can take her out tonight, or arrange to do something tonight to take her mind off all of the worrying. She'll appreciate it.

It is most likely nothing. I've been to the gyno for similar things. Probably TMI, but once it was a swollen lymph node (there are lymph nodes in that region) and once it was an infected hair follicle from shaving. There is also something called a bartholian cyst that is very common and can cause a lump and swelling. I was freaked out about it at first as well. From the location, it sounds like a lymph node. Hope everything turns out ok.

I hope everything is okay. And as said before, be sure to think positive. It's not scientific but I'm 100% sure it helps.

BTW, How old are you?

You can't worry about it now, she is doing the right thing in getting it looked at. Late last year I had a lump in my mouth and wasn't very happy because I'm one of the few males in my family who does not chew. Turned out to be nothing cancerous or dangerous. All was well until I got stuck with a big bill due to my crappy insurance, it is most likely nothing.

Best of luck friend. I have added her to my "prayer chain."

I know thinking positive is tough, but keep it up! Even at its worst, she will be in a much better situation now than at any other time in history.

Make sure she knows you will be there and will be as supportive as possible - also, try not to give too much advice (unless she asks). Let your simple presence and honest caring speak for you.

Hot!

In my totally unprofessional opinion, I think the really scary stuff down there is harder to detect than being a lump. I hope she'll be fine.

BTW, How old are you?

25. I kid of course. I'm 18. We started dating when I was 17. It's not that big of an age difference in high school, and she's much smarter than I am anyway.

She went to the doctor today, and the doctor said she should get a CAT Scan and some blood work. She mentioend that it could be an ovary that has moved, or something with her bladder, or a cyst. Her mom had a cyst when she was younger and they got her on birth control which fixed it right up.

It's hard to be there for her, though I try to as mucha s I can. She recently moved and she's an hour away now, and with my work it's not soe asy to get to see her. I try real hard though.

Just an update. The CAT Scan they did didn't show anything abnormal. She's waiting on the blood tests but the CAT Scan being clean is a good sign I think.

I don't really udnerstand why it took this long for the blood tests to come back. Turns out she has an ovarian sist. Everything else was normal, her hormone levels and stuff. I guess it's a relief that it's something they can easily take care of.

Those are fairly common. But if her Dr recommends removing it, do it. Something which is no problem now can be a problem later. And you tend to forget about things like that, especially if you have kids by the time they can become a problem in her 30's and 40's.

My sister had ovarian cysts since she was a teenager. She had difficulty getting pregnant a few years later, and when she got breast cancer, the cysts went apeshit. She would have had a better chance if the cysts were removed when they were found.
