Anyone going this year? I have never been and I am going to take my brother and my nephew. I know KOP and Bobo usually go, I was wondering if anyone else was going to be there. Here is the link for the show.

Some of the guests this year Rutger Hauer, George Romero, some of the cast of Land of the Dead, Adrienne Barbeau, Sybil Danning, and a bunch of other people.

http://www.horrorfindweekend.com/state/maryland/

No offense, Adrienne and Sybil would go to the opening of an envelope at this point.

I haven't missed one yet - I'll be there Saturday pretty much from start to finish. I love this show - has a great vibe.

Sybil Danning .... yummy.

I do agree that some of these people either have no business being there ( the 3 clowns from Land Of The Dead ) as they have no real horror work other than the one film or are so irrelevant nowadays because their " moment " was a long time ago ( Nancy Loomis, Joe Pilato to name a few ).

Still I'd like to go to one of these one day.

I don't want to blow up her spot, but TheBazile has a very interesting story concerning herself, Erin Gray, and Jerry Doyle at one of these cons a few years ago.

It was the same day as a Jets Playoff game, so WFAN was broadcasting live from the hotel lobby, where Jets fans were intermingling with people in Klingon makeup. Very... interesting to say the least.

No one in Klingon makeup at this show - most of the costumes in Baltimore are saved until the end of Sat. night for the costume contest (3 of the 6 times hysterically hosted by Bruce Campbell) - there is quite a bit of snobbery between the horror and sci-fi convention worlds; the sci-fi folks pretend to be more literate and imagine they are part of the stories, while the horror folks just want to get drunk and get laid. Yes - there are crossovers, but you'd be killed at the Baltimore or Cleveland horror shows if you even suggested a LARP.

Personally, i very rarely care about the guests - meeting George Romero two years ago was a big deal to me personally, and I loved talking to H.G. Lewis, but outside of that they all normally behave like regular folks and are usually very fun. Of the ones at this show, Dee Wallace and Ken Forree are two of my favorites to just chat with at the bar. I save my money for the dealer room, where I always come home with some cool, rare posters. It's typically a very fun, no hassel kind of vibe, often with bare boobs getting painted out in public, and while there will be geeky if you are looking for geeky, is it any more so than typing to strangers on a messageboard about a radio show?

We accept you as one of us!
