Hi guys,

I know some of you use Total Recorder and figured you might be able to help me with a noob problem. While recording or in monitoring mode, I get no sound. However, I have no problem hearing the sound when playing back the audio. I think I have the audio input/outputs set up correctly but figured I might be missing something.

thanks!
eddie

I've never used Total Recorder, but in Windows, you might have the channel you're trying to record muted under Volume Control. For example, if you're trying to record off of "Microphone", it could be muted. However, it could still be selected in Recording Control, therefore, recorded in Total Recorder. When you playback, it'll play through a different channel (like Wave, which isn't muted), which explains why you can hear the playback.

Make sure in your Windows Audio properties you have "Playback through Total Recorder" selected. Make sure it's not set for playback through your sound card. When not using Total Recorder make sure the Audio setting are back to playback and record through your regular sound device or some apps, like games, will not work properly.

BTW TR is a great program. Before I got the MyFi I used to record the R&F and O&A shows from the web site. Then I would edit out commercials and such and d'load the tracks to my mp3 player. It's great for making clips of audio also. I've had it about three years and have received all the upgrades religiously.
