but we all knew that. Now the Washington Post agrees in this big long article. They break down the content and compare the two services, and for "talk" they say:

Beyond round-the-clock Stern, Sirius has former Tampa bad boy Bubba the Love Sponge, and XM has added Ron and Fez, late of Washington's WJFK, to its anything-goes talk channel. Edge: XM.

basically the way it was written and interpreted by myself was that
using a point system, ron and fez won the battle for xm.

Id
prefer a football channel on xm tho? Can we get replays of mike
and mike in the morning on xm? I dont know if thats avl because i
leave mine on xm 202 all the time.

I wish XM had football, too but alas... Sirius shelled out the bucks for it.

In any case, I have XM and I don't have Sirius. Thus, XM is better.

when my xm subscribtion runs out i will probably be getting sirius....i've heard good things about their jam-band station and since XM got rid of Music lab the ONLY thing i listen to is the buddays....XM pisses me off

Some of the writers reasons for giving the edge to xm made no sense to me. One being the baseball edge. Baseball has too many games, you dont need to listen to every game because 1 game will not make a difference. But football has only 16 so if your a Miami fan like me, you want to hear or watch as much of your favorite team as you can. Lets say your a nationals fan and live in NY. Do you really need to or want to listen to 162 games or would watching them play the mets 20 times a year, Atlanta another 12 times a year (ATL games are nationaly tv games) and wouldnt that be enough?

I had sirius for 1 1/2 years sold my car that had my sirius in it. I then bought xm I had it a month and cancelled it. I'm buying a new car now and as soon as I get it the first thing I'm doing is putting sirius in the car.

When it comes down to the other stuff, a lot of its the same. But I'm into club, house, dance music and sirius has a lot of the NY/NJ and international DJ's do those shows.

When it comes to talk I'm still a howard fan and I started to like bubba. XM has ron and fez and o&a. Well you can listen to o&a for free on fm for 3 hours everyday. Plus I hate Opie but I do like norton and anthony they are funny and make the show. I would love to slap Opie in the face.

so for me Sirius!

Opie is the Broadcaster, as for Sirius, I had sirius and Like XM better, Sirius tried to have a punk station but then threw in rap???? WTF, I mean If I like Punk does not dictate I like Rap. It also has tooo many stations that do not give a varieity of new music. If I wanted to listen to the same stuff that commericial radio has beaten to death then I would just listen to commercial radio. Ron and Fez do give the edge to Xm. I bought a portable unit just to listen to Xm at work.
Hoping they bring back Rancid Radio. As for sports on the radio, the only game I can listen to is Baseball. Football, Basketball, etc I'd rather watch. Baseballs pacing makes it good for radio, the other sports dont.

I could never listen to football on the radio. DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket is all I need on Sundays.

I have to go with XM, simply because it has programming I like. I'm a fan of O&A, R&F (obviously since I'm here), and baseball. I like football, but I'm a really casual fan. As for music, XM has gotten better of late, but they still are very "overplay" prone where you listen to the same songs over and over. I've heard Sirius has better music stations for someone with my musical tastes, but I have no clue if that's true or not since I don't have the service.

As far as the number of channels, I have to be honest and say that I use my 30 presets, but rarely go beyond them. I only keep 2 talk stations programmed (202 and 175- Home Plate). The rest are music.

I actually thought about dumping the XM for a while when I thought O&A were just mailing it in every day and the music stations were in a very heavy replay schedule of the same 20 songs. This was before I got into R&F, by the way. But O&A seemed to get much sharper after the CBS deal, and the music stations finally got away from the same sets of songs (although they still have the overplay issue occasionally), and I listen to R&F everyday.

If I did get rid of XM, I wouldn't bother with Sirius. I don't have the motivation to get new hardware, etc., and I stopped listening to Stern a few years back.

I have Sirius and as far as I can tell from the music stations, at least the ones I listen to, they are almost identical to the ones on XM ( that I catch on AOL radio ).

I would trade Stern for R&F if I could as I'm a much bigger fan of them. At this point I have no intention of getting both and I can't ditch Sirius because me g/f got it for me and I pay for both of our subscriptions ( she loves Stern ).

I do like the NFL & College football games that Sirius broadcasts also I get college baseball games occasionally that I'd like to listen to ( I used to be able to listen to them streaming online but then the university made it a subscription site ).

As far as Mike & Mike goes I thought ESPN was on both platforms.

I got XM because i wanted sattelite radio and Stern sucks a bag of ass. I was delighted to find R&F. Also, i miss freshly cowbelled Fez. Ronnie should hire a guy to follow Fez around with a cowbell on weekends.
