During John Mayer's last appearance he made a joke which got the silly response from a host "You are worse than Hitler," and they moved on. This stupid-ass poll was simply trying to have real-time fun with that, not taking into account that there is a listening thread set aside for real time fun. And not taking into account that not everyone heard the show live...etc...

To be serious for a moment, I'm sick of John Mayer.  He was cool the first time he popped in on Ron and Fez but since then he seems to think he's got the green light to stop by whenever he wants.  His inflated ego and sense of self-importance is more annoying than any other celebrity I can think of. You're nowhere near as cool as you think you are John Boy.  Play your pretty little songs and leave the comedy to the pros.

as much as i don't like mayer (i voted as bad as hitler)........i'm sure he does have a green light to pop in whenever he wants....it's ron and fez's call and i do believe that they are flattered that he is a fan...i'd rather have him in as a guest anyday before another fuckin chef comes in

While i have zero interest in chefs/resto's on their own , i was surprised at how much i enjoyed the couple of interviews i have heard (Alton-sp? and the local restauranteur)....i like the changeup variety it brings to the show and i vote for (a few) more guest interviews.....Good grief, aren't they are in midtown?..i'm surprised they don't (can't) have their pick of some fairly interesting people.I thought Mayer was alright; he does bring some interesting insider views of the music biz, is genuinely into it.....but when trying to follow after the awesome Ron and Anthony segment, it just showed all the more how incredibly talented the top pros are.

His newer music is pretty good too. As far as todays comment about gay people, think he's on this "I want to be taken seriously as a comedian" kick, so he's trying do these edgy lines quite often. If a comedian shot a line like that from the stage no one would even think twice about it.

I've never been a fan of Mayer's genre of music, but his appearances on the show and especially his MTV special were absolutely hilarious.  I have no idea what he did to become the next adolf, but I dig his general attitude towards his music.  He realizes that not everyone will be a fan and negates his critics that try to typecast him by putting out different records that vary in their commercial appeal.  Cool guy... but he'd probably tell me to fuck off if I ever said hello to him.

Like I said, I should have posted my stupid-ass comment in the listening thread, because now by itself it does seem like yet another mean thing rf.net has done. He's very funny on the show - I totally dig that he is a friend and a fan - I love that he is actually nervous around them because he admits that he wants them to like him.

John Mayer is a good guest to have on every now and then IMO(which is worth little)  But he gets a bit to "know it all" acting to have on for long peroids of time.  Not the kind of guy i could imagine being around much(like i have to worry about that)But he can play the shit out of the guitar.  his songs don't do much credit for that though.

But I don't think he's full of himself (at least not from what I've heard, I've only heard him on R&F 3 times, and O&A once, and that Chappelle show where he didn't say much of anything) I think he's just very aware that he is pretty famous right now and is pretty open with letting people know what it's like from his point of view. He knows music and knows what it's like to preform, so why not talk about it?Was Hitler a "Know it all"?
