Hey all....just found out that my friend and roomate crippler is in the hospital. He was in physical therapy for his back and he collapsed. He is in an un-disclosed (privacy for his sake) hospital and is in ICU. they ran tests and need to see what happened. This just happened today at about 6ish.

So say a prayer or well wishes or whatever it is you do...my buddy needs it.

Thanks everyone.

That sucks. I hope he feels better.

I also hope he didn't get fusion. I refused to get that and waited for the Prodisc Artificial Disc to be approved by the FDA. I will be having back surgery in October and 'aint NO physical therapist gonna experiment on me. One woman I know with an artificial disc was told by her therapist to try traction after her surgery! She refused and she is better off. Dont let those phyical therapists experiment on you!

You can PM me anytime if you have a question about back surgery.

Good luck Bra! (no bro mo)

Update: Well after bouncing from one hospital to another, he is now in rehab/after patient care. With much better and nicer facilities (and better tv..including YES network) he is in better spirits. This means one step closer to coming home, which is what he has been begging for for a while now. He thanks EVERYONE for the well wishes again.

P.S. When he is back to 90% we will have a welcome home poker game for him in October...so be ready!

spoon
09-21-2006, 09:13 PM
I talked to Tom (Justice) a couple times and Crip is doing better and has been moved to a more comfortable place for rehab. At least now he also has tv and will be able to catch some NFL and I think he has XM in his room too, but I'm not too sure on that. I won't say where he is exactly and what's up to keep some things private until he can come back and bring up what he feels comfortable with. But all in all the big guy is doing better and a shout out on the show from the boys would be fucking awesome. A few of us are going to get together and hang with him as we watch the Jets and Giants get stomped this weekend.

Hey....so, what did I miss?
Yes, I'm out of the hospital(s), out of rehab, and almost home. Staying at my folks' place for about a week so my mother can wait on me hand & foot...ok, moreso that my father can draw blood every other day, arrange CT scans, etc., since my health is still not 100%. But I feel good, except for the limp, but more physical therapy will take care of that in time.
Between Tom & my cousin Campo, I was kept well aware of all the well wishes, jokes, and genuine concern around here. And I have to tell you it meant a lot to me, especially during a time when not a lot of things were going well.
I've always said that there are some real, genuinely good people around here. And even though I didn't need the proof, it certainly presented itself here. So thank you all for the kind words, encouragement, and all the "thought & prayers" in general.
Lastly, since I always try to give him credit where it is due (you know, to try & balance out all the shit I give him otherwise), special thanks to Tom for being my conduit to the board, personal mailman, and all around good guy.
Hope to see some of you at the poker game. And as always, I'll see you in the trenches around here.
- John
