I caught the Bam segment last night on my delphi replay. They had a guy named Bam on pontificating about the middle east crisis. This guy was the most irritating, stuttering, facile, uninformed, biased monoplolizer of the best damn radio show going-today! Why this douche bag? I don't even care what his politics are. He was a dim bulb. Here is a guy who said he was Jewish and just returned from Israel. So this is all of the credentials needed to go on and on for over an hour about Lebanon/Israel? if that's the case, put me on about the NFL. I went to a pre-season game. I never turn the show off, until last ight. I love to get the boys to broach subjects as important and serious as the middle east crisis once in while, but put on people that have credibility, intelligence, and don't speak like Woody Allen on crack. Awful. Now Ron too appears to be willing taking some time off during the show, along with Fez, and letting morons prattle on about their personal agendas and political beliefs. Stop it, just stop it. Give us a Fez catty moment, ESD's growing up in Ward Cleaver land on acid, or even Bronx Johnny talking about-anything. If Bam is the only option, I vote to put on a "best of" instead of exposing the R&F nation to this amatuer, dumb, sub level of entertainment/politics.

I think the fact that it pissed so many people off made it good radio. It seemed to me that Ron was just letting him talk, and defend his position. There are two ways for that to go: 1) make strong points defending your position and educate the audience or 2) make poor/biased points based on one side of the story, using one event to illustrate the behavior of an entire country, and basically dig your own grave.

Either one can be entertaining. I don't think the caller was a plant, simply because bam seemed to be constantly lost in thought and unable to state his point. You would think that he'd have had stonger, more defined points if that caller was a plant. He's been on air with O&A enough that I don't think it was just a case of him being nervous.

And for an example of Ron just letting people go on and on, look no further than the Shirley Phelps Roper interviews. Ron just let her talk and talk, and I thought that was a lot more entertaining than other people that would just tear her apart. Ronnie always seems to know the best angle to take on any guest, whether it's arguing with them, mocking them, or just letting them babble.

A national platform threw a lot more people into the dynamic. There are all types of people nothing like the fans from Florida, NY or DC, and there are RNF fans now that were never even within earshot of them before. The board isn't as tight-knit as it used to be, and there are a lot more random whoevers (myself included of course) from all over the country posting , and I'd guess a fair amount more than a year ago. The fanbase changed, the board changed with it. I think everyone just needs to deal.

You would think any time in studio would get you a little more comfortable than someone who's never met the show's hosts, but I suppose you can still be fairly nervous.

And as far as the point about him having point, I'm looking at it as if I were going in studio knowing I would be talking about a certain topic (which he would have had the caller been a plant). I would have some stronger basis for my statements than he had, or I simply wouldn't have made them. If there's one thing Ron knows how to do, it's shoot holes in faulty logic. So, if you plan to discuss a topic, you should be prepared to defend your stance.

Yeah, but Ron really didn't need to poke holes directly, he just needed to click on the name and reason for calling. BAM is a friend of both shows after all, and he has proven to be..... sensitive we'll call it
Maybe but combined with his pro Nazi Racist rantings on O&A, one could wonder how much of a white power racist he really is. Then again he could be making it all up to get on the radio.
So in turn you could theorize that his comments about the Isreal Lebenon situation were made up to shock and gain attention so he could get on the radio and plug his own message board.
So what is he, a real racist, or a person who wil lie and scheme as a way to become "famous".
Bottom line how can you trust anything he says.
