Free Word download?

<p>I had to re-install Windows XP and it comes with Word Pad and Note Pad. Neither do me any good in the real world. Does any one know *a virus free* site where I can download Word for free? </p><p>Just a question-- does anyone use Word Perfect anymore? </p><p>Thanks! I can get the latest MS Office suite for about $1.50, but I don't know if I can email it to you or just the important parts, or what-not. Anybody know if this is possible? If not I could ship it. PM me Fuzzy and we'll see what we can do.

second Open Office. I don't even bother with MS Office any more on
reformats. It's free, does everything Office can do, and yeah, it's
free.<br /><p>I would also recommend Open Office.&nbsp; I have been using it for a few months.&nbsp; It does everything I need it to (which isn't much), and I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, but its free.<br /></p>

My only prob with Open Office is the time I was working on an application for an employer and my computer didn't have Word, so I installed open office.&nbsp; The specs had a bunch of diagrams drawn in Word, and were somehow screwed up by Open Office so that I missed an entire piece of the application because of it.<br />
