Paradise Lost is a documentary about the murders of three eight year old boys in West Memphis Arkansas and the trial that followed. I'm sure some of you have seen the documentary. I was jsut wondering if anyone could tell me what Metallica song is playing during the end credits. I'm not a big metallica fan, but the song was good and I'm interested in knowing what it is.

Never saw it Keith but can you give me a few words from the song?  I could help you out then.

It's actually, mostly musical. Kinda slow, but still heavy. Not that any of that probably helps.

It's either Welcome Home (Sanitarium), The Call Of Ktulu or Orion. I haven't seen that documentary in so long I have no idea which.<br />

Court documents reveal new details in the case of the "West Memphis 3" (http://www.wmcstations.com/Global/story.asp?S=6814836)

July 20, 2007 09:55 AM EDT (http://www.wmcstations.com/Global/story.asp?S=6814836)

DNA evidence may connect family member to West Memphis 3 crime scene (http://www.wmcstations.com/Global/story.asp?S=6814836)

A jury convicted the West Memphis 3 nearly 14 years ago of the murders of three eight-year-old boys: Michael Moore, Stevie Branch and Christopher Byers. (http://www.wmcstations.com/Global/story.asp?S=6814836)

Now, a high powered defense team is trying to prove Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley didn't do it. (http://www.wmcstations.com/Global/story.asp?S=6814836)

New DNA testing by the defense shows that none of the genetic material recovered from the murder scene links Echols, Baldwin, or Misskelley to the scene. Instead, defense attorneys say, the tests found DNA from Terry Hobbs, the stepfather of one of the murdered boys. (http://www.wmcstations.com/Global/story.asp?S=6814836)
i thought the first one was moving and really well made, the second one was a bit off ...

but terry hobbs came off real creepy, especially the knocking the teeth out thing

Isen't Paradise lost also a book about Satan's fall from heaven? I remember seeing something about that.

That's the tie in to the title of the documentary. Fall from grace, loss of innocence.

Paradise Lost is an epic poem, penned by Milton during the early period of the Enlightenment. It was an attempt to understand the confluence of the divine and the physical.

When they were talking about crimes that fascinated you on the show today, the West Memphis 3 came to mind. They got screwed since day one and it just goes on an on. Even Byers thinks their innocent now. Hopefully they'll be free within a year and this story will make a shitload of money for the three. And the real killer will be punished. Maaaaan. But seriously.

Damien Echols has already worked with Henry Rollins, Michael Graves and had his artwork featured in a lot of galleries.

I remember watching Paradise Lost when i was a teenager and it was pretty heart wrenching on both sides of the coin.

I think the main lesson in all of it though is to never befriend a borderline retard, they'll send you up the river without even knowing it.

Echols co-wrote the lyrics to the song "Army Reserve", on Pearl Jam's self-titled album. That right there makes him a good egg in my book.

Aristotle himself couldnt have said it better. Someone will get Oscar buzz for their portrayal of Misskelley in the movie.

For anyone in North Jersey, there's a benefit event in Hackensack next week. I have NO idea who any of these bands are, and I definitely wont stay long, but I will be going just to donate money and check it out. Thought Id throw it out there.

Oh I absolutely agree. Its just sickening that shithole Arkansas will get away with locking these kids up for 18 years without compensating them, and will continue to consider the case closed. A truly fucked situation from start to finish I guess.

indeed im just happy theyre out

first heard about them through henry rollins

the only thing im not sure of is the fact that they signed that deal mean they cant continue to prove they were innocent, at least through a courts eyes ? cause im sure public opinion is prob 100% in their favor outside of bumblefuck arkansas

It seems that the only way to exonerate themselves legally would be to prove that someone else did it. Which they are allowed to pursue privately but entirely on their own dime or through the WM3 fund donations. As of now the case is closed and the state wont do shit to investigate any further. All 3 and their supporters are really gung ho about setting out to solve this case so hopefully the real end to this will result in a rightful conviction. But who knows?

It'll all go south when they try to steal memorabilia at gunpoint.

And how many more innocents are rotting in jail because their supposed crimes weren't horrific enough to attract compassionate lookie-loos?

Lots and lots. It doesnt make these guys any less innocent though. At one point Echols was 3 weeks from actually being executed. Its totally fucked no doubt. Even with the celebrity attention and the documentaries and the gothkids it still took 18 years to get this done.

On the brightside, DNA has freed many many people since its been being used as evidence and we usually dont hear about it. Hopefully it will continue to do so. And eventually some new science we cant even imagine will come along that will possibly release more people. In the meantime people suffer.
