I recently installed a new stereo in my car (first time). It's worked out fine except for one thing. You know the noise you get when the ground isn't connected? Well... I don't get that noise with the tuner, CD, or USB port, but I do with the auxiliary input (using my Myfi).

The only ground wire I didn't connect was one that was marked as a ground for a power antenna. I don't have a power antenna, so I taped it up, and left it unconnected. Do you think it's possible, that the unit requires that ground wire to be connected for the Aux jack?

Praise be, to anyone with a good answer.

Wowie zowie...

I just looked at the connection list that came with the the wiring connector. There's one marked "Aux Shield Ground". I bet that's it!

I hope it works, when I connect it tomorrow. R&F isn't as good with that annoying noise that increases every time I hit the accelerator.

They sell a cheap little in-line gidget at radio shack that installs on the power feed. Supposedly it reduces the transmitted engine noise while uploading your location, speed, and B.A.C. to the nearest Highway patrol.
