<p><font face="Arial" size="2">Snow got into a tussle with Gregory after the NBC journalist told him, in a lengthy remark, that the public may wonder why the president's statement and report today on the war on terror did not admit more failings on the administration's part. Snow observed that he had nicely summarized &quot;the Democratic point of view,&quot; and Gregory took exception to this.<br /><br />This exchange followed.</font></p><p>This is exactly the chickenshit argument the Nixon administration continuously made against the Washington Post while they were uncovering the Watergate scandal - that the Post was representing the Democratic party. In other words, administrations attack the press when they have something to hide. The Bush adminsitration has attacked the press from the day they took office. </p>

ANyone who actually looks at the Post sees almost an over-eagerness to not come across as a Liberal mouthpiece - to the point that (imo) this administration has gotten off very well with their coverage.
