What difference does it make A.J. Do you think the mission has been accomplished in Iraq?

The mission in Iraq was to remove the Saddam Hussein regime. That was accomplished.

There was NO plan on what to do after he was removed. Of course, the administration thought we would be greeted with flowers. Instead we get car bombs.

Maybe if our troops were in Afghanastan and maybe if we flexed our muscles on Pakistan to let us cross their borders, maybe, just maybe, the Taliban wouldn't be so prevalent.

But, we're mostly in Iraq. I forget... why? Oh yea.

There is no evidence of formal links between Iraqi ex-leader Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda leaders in Iraq prior to the 2003 war, a US Senate report says.

Saddam Hussein was distrustful of al-Qaeda and viewed Islamic extremists as a threat to his regime, refusing all requests from al-Qaeda to provide material or operational support - Senate Report

Since I don't believe W is an idiot in the literal/clinical sense of the term, it is my sincere hope that his 9:00PM bedtimes are often ruined by the sneaking thoughts that had he concentrated on finishing the job of really smashing the Taliban and coming out of there with bin-Laden's and Zawahiri's heads on a pair of bloody spikes and then spent a fraction of Iraq's costs on rebuilding/buying good will in Afghanistan, he probably would be considered the historical hero that he imagines himself to be. Instead, he now faces the real prospect of going 0 for 2 even before considering "tripling down" with a parting shot at Iran.

Ah Georgie, if you had only done even some of your own homework in school you might not have been in so far over your head when you assumed the throne.
