I was about to start a new thread on this, but I remembered that one of the few things that Ron is ultra-sensitive about is this topic, so I'll just say it here (although I've said it a million times).

The week of 9/11, I was totally isolated and alone. My entire family was traveling and spread out and stuck across the entire country (my brother in Atlanta, my parents in Phoenix). Listening to Ron and Fez and those shows is one thing that helped me get through that week until both my parents and my brother got home to Jersey.

Thanks.

I don't know why anyone would look at today's date on a calendar, see that it's the fifth anniversary, and not realize they kind of show that would go today. Ron likes to work shit out. They did similar ones for the 1st and 2nd anniversaries, but by 2004 and the 3rd you rarely saw/heard too many of the day long rememberences, because (a) we put less and less significance unless it is a "5th" or "10th" once we move away from 1 & 2, (b) that was an election year, and (c) the war was fresh. And by last year, there was even less done on a massive public scale, and with R&F I don't know if it was more than a passing conversation, since 9/11 last year was a weekend AND they had other things to talk about, like their first show back. Fifth Anniversary is an appropriate time to take a show and devote this and try and make some sense with the context and perception etc. R&F do the kind of show where they can create interesting radio without being all morning zooish.

In Pink vs. Hank, I actually prefer John Williams' NFL theme song he composed for NBC.

Click here to listen to it - it's awesome.

It all depends about number of fans and the setup of an outdoor stadium. The Swamp in Florida is set up like a big multifaceted cube so that all the jort wearer's screams bounce off the other side of the stadium and resonate. That and most indoor stadiums are pro teams and pro team crowds are nowhere near as loud as the top college team's crowds.
