<p>The site froze and made me lose my post, so here is the synopsis of what i wrote:</p><p> </p><p>Heard "Love Train" and got the album, the rest of it was OK.</p><p>Read an interview and the lead singer came off as a total prick who has no real heart in music. Put me off and i haven't listened to them since.</p><p> </p>

<p>I am amazed how much these guys have blown up in the past 18 months. I had the chance to see them play for ten bucks at a local pub back here in Australia just over a year ago. </p><p>I even considered sending a copy of their stuff to Jim Norton to see if he what he thought of it but with his tendency of just breaking gifts I didn't waste my time. I should have just sent it to Earl and have him pass it off as his discovery.</p>

However, don't make the same mistake I did - be sure to close the bathroom door at Wendy's before you start dancing. Makes for a "Frosty" reception.</p>

I literally hadn't bought a CD since Napster (aka - like 8 years ago)... until this album came out. Very retro metal, taste of everything... It was on sale at Virgin for $10, so I sucked it up and bought my first CD in 8 years. It was worth it. They are Sabbath, mixed with Zeppelin, mixed with The Doors, mixed with Skynyrd. You could call them immitation artists, but it's a breath of fresh air if you ask me.

Don't we have enough overplayed Zepplin on the radio without some new band coming around and churning out more?</p><p>Wolfmother gets notched onto that same list that includes Buck Cherry and Jet.... flush 'em. </p><p> <br />and Mike Patton is a god amongst men, listen to the man.<br /></p>

<font size="2">The others bands hate them becuase they are so derivative. Kind of like oasis pretending they were the Beatles 8 years ago. Bottom line to me is that they have really good musicianship and original songs.</font>

Patton's been in a number of bands since FNM, I remember one of them, Tomahawk, I beleive, was touring with Tool in 2002. He's been in a couple since, but I haven't kept track, unfortunately. I think he's competeng with Les Claypool for "most fronted bands over a carrer"<br />

One hit wonder?
Two band members quit Wolfmother
Posted 3 hours 30 minutes ago
The rumours of problems in Australian rock band Wolfmother camp have proven to be true, with the trio announcing that bass and keyboard player Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett have resigned, effective immediately.
According to a statement from the Grammy Award-winning band, Ross is leaving due to irreconcilable personal and musical differences while Heskett does not want to be part of a changed line-up.
Singer and guitarist Andrew Stockdale is going to find other musicians and begin making a new Wolfmother album, the statement says.
Heskett and Ross have been working together on songs for some time and they plan focus more on that new project.
Wolfmother played at the Splendour In The Grass Festival in Byron Bay at the weekend, but that appearance was even plagued by rumours of a possible line-up change.
The band toured nationally and internationally throughout much of 2006 and early 2007 after the release of their acclaimed self-titled debut album, which received multiple ARIA Awards and a Grammy.
Long-standing frictions within the group then lead them to take an extended break during the second half of 2007 to consider their future, but they later regrouped to work on a new album.
The group have shared stages with renowned bands including Pearl Jam, The Who and The Strokes.
Stockdale, Heskett and Ross have said that they will make no further public statements except to say that they are each really looking forward to making their new music over the years ahead.
The statement said they want their fans "to please understand that in spite of their best efforts over a long period of time, they just could not find a harmonious way to work together and that has lead to the decisions announced today".

How about all of Angel Dust - great!!! fucking album.
I remember when Opie was touting these guys as the next Nirvana (in terms of potential influence, not style).
Yeaaaaaaaaaah....
