Is it gay if a guy is closer acquaintances with a girl who isn't a girlfriend than he is with any male?

The vast majority of my most intimate friendships are with women.

Some of my bestest friends which I have a few, are guys. Guys are more personable and for some reason they listen better. Guys tend to give great advice especially in the relationship department. Guys also can make me feel comfortable like there is no show or trying to be better with them. I can be myself and I'm not being harrased for it. Girls get into too many fights. I love kicking back with the guys and watching a football game, drinking a beer or playing some playstation. Why a few of my bestest guy friends are right here on this great board. Love you guys! :)

Having guy friends is absolutely the best. they are so much more relaxed and don't get mad at you for petty things. Plus, most girls i know don't enjoy going to the bar, drinking a few beers and watching the game...one of my favorite past times. My best friend is a guy too....Love ya CircusBoy :)

Me, being who I am, have more str8 guys as friends than females. So I wouldnt even classify gay guys as having all girls or other gay guys as friends...Doesnt answer your question, but adds my two cents:-) SEYA!

EMB - I find it interesting that you wrote that you find guys listen better than women.
I find the opposite to be true. My experience is that it's rare to find a guy who is willing to open up and share or even express his thoughts. Women however, have no such silly hangups. Since I'm a very emotionally open person, I prefer to hang out with people who share my emotional expressiveness.

The vast majority of my close friends are female, for whatever reason. And 2 of my best male friends are thousands of miles away. I guess I'm just more comfortable around women- both platonicly, and intimately.
Although, I do wish I had someone to regularly drink a beer and watch sports with.

HK, for some reason I'm blessed with great male friends. For the most part they all tend to listen when I have a problem or for just anything, and I don't have to keep grabbing their attention. I'm grateful for the friends I have, I cherish them.

I have a great group of guy friends (some would call us "buddies") and I have lots of friends that are girls (and, contrary, to popular belief, I don't want to sleep with all of them). I'm blessed that they all fulfill different needs I have in terms of friendships. And, it's not just that I drink beer and watch football with my buddies and have deep relationship conversations with my female friends. I've had some of my most meaningful and truthful life discussions with guy friends.
In my experience it is somewhat troublesome when a person ONLY has friendships of the opposite sex. An ex of mine had a ton of guy friends and at first I was cool with it because I had lots of female friends so I wanted to be fair. But, then I realized she had NO female friends and it turned out in the end that I had every right to be concerned. In contrast, my current sweetie has plenty of guy friends but I don't have a concern in the world because she relates to females just as easily.
Basically, it's troublesome when somebody can only relate to 50% of the population because of a percieved truth.
