The wrestling promotion headed by Jimmy Hart and Hulk Hogan is on, and this time they're making it official.

The promotion, known as Xtreme Pro Wrestling, is set to begin television tapings in November, with dates set for the 14th and 15th at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. A two-hour pilot episode, as well as eight one-hour episodes will be pulled together from the tapings.

According to Hogan, the promotion will have "no prima donnas and no locker room politics."

Hogan, who is the majority owner of XFW, will be a co-booker, along with Kevin Sullivan.

Hart, says the group has 40 wrestlers under contract. Among the wrestlers confirmed to be involved are Brian Knobbs, Jerry Sags, Ron and Don Harris, Curt Hennig, "Buff" Bagwell, Vampiro, Sting and Jerry "The King" Lawler.

Lawler confirmed his participation on his website, www.kinglawler.com, saying, "I have signed to participate in a TV taping at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida."

Hart also mentioned that he is looking to sign Scott Hall.

Lawler feels that the new promotion will be good for the wrestling industry as a whole. "I think it would benefit everyone, including the WWF," he said. "It is healthy to have competition, and I think Vince McMahon would be the first to admit that.

"This has the potential of turning into something very big in the wrestling world."

"I foricate and play hockey, it's all I know how to do."

Wonderful. We desperately need a new wrestling fed, and this is the one that now has the best chance of succeeding. With Hogan in charge and him co-booking with Kevin Sullivan.

Honestly, though, who would watch this? The NASTY BOYS??? Christ, the only two names on that list that interest me are Sting (who's pretty much retired) and Vampiro (who hasn't done anything worthwhile since he left Mexico). This is too depressing.

The wwf rocks, but its time for something new definitly.
It sounds like it can get big if people don't just blow it off as being nothing.

Hogan and Kevin Sullivan are going to be doing the booking and there's going to be NO locker room politics! Ha, Ha, Ha, that's a good one.

Hogan and the Taskmaster are two of the reasons why they started the whole fiasco known as backstage politics.

Hold up, didn't notice before but the initals are XPW! Are you referring to the Kali based promotion? They can't have the same initials. Or is it the XFW?

Again, BigBlue86, where is your source on this "Major" update?

RonFez Mark, I believe it's XFW. I think Big Blue just goofed when he called it XPW. Although the thought of Hogan teaming up with porn king Rob Black is awful intriguing.

I'm thinking this story has a lot of crap in it. I've heard the Hogan / XFW stuff, but some of the names mentioned? Everyone is saying that Sting is done with the business, and I know Jerry Sags is retired thanks to an injury he received at the hands of the Outsiders years ago (learn to throw a proper chairshot, boys). So I say you have to really take this with a grain of salt.

I don't usually like to reveal my sources on account I like to seem smarter than I really am.

I actually cut and paste the article from Slam!Wrestling. The Hulkster was on the Bubba the Love Sponge show last week, and gave the details. All the participants in the promotion were from his mouth.

If you visit Jerry Lawler's website, he mentions signing with the promotion in his latest commentary.

The promotion is XWF, not XPW. Apparently Jimmy Hart has been doing a lot of the leg work on this deal for several months.

I do think it's odd how Terry says there will be no prima-donnas or locker room politics. There were no locker room politics before him.

If Hulk REALLY wants to make a SECURE investment, he should open a Retirement home for all those old WWF turncoats that are too old, shitty, or BOTH to be in wrestling anymore. Or maybe buy some stock in Centrum Silver.

I think I saw Hulk walking around the Willowbrook Mall before the stores opened. HA!

That, or I say him getting a 10% discount at Friendly's.

HE'S OLD!

At the risk of making some enemies here, I will say this. The WWF's ratings have been tanking since WM17. THe only person (Besides The Nature Boy) who could pop the ratings would be Hogan.

Think about it. He shows up at Survivor Series and does a run-in that decides the outcome of the mainevent? Everyone will tune in to Raw the next night to see and hear what he has to say.

Hell, even if he doesn't do anything, people will tune in just to see what he does next. You may not like it but it's true. Seeing him back in the fed will spark so much interest....Hogan-Rock, Hogan-Angle, Hogan-HHH, Hogan-Austin and the big MAMMA-JAMMA pay day. Vince McMahon vs. Hulk Hogan, headling at WrestleMania.

The only match bigger than that would be Vince - Bret. A person can dream, can't he?
