I have some pretty decent equipment to make production pieces with, but
i have no good way to access audio from the show (i listen on my roady
2 while i'm driving around working) - anyone have any good ideas about
obtaining good quality show audio? I have tried newsgroups and most of
that stuff is 64k and it takes way too long to find and download. Can
we request bits from the staff? I don't want a library of old shows and
I would like to be able to produce high quality topical production
pieces and parody songs. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe you should not try to steal their stuff. I don't think Ron would take too kindly to it...

Well, I'm not trying to steal anything, first of all. I am
interested in using show audio to make sweepers and production pieces
that could be used on the show or float around the internet as
amusement for R&F fans.

The torrents are few and far between, especially on torrentspy.

Not
sure how to record the streaming audio. I have a subscription, so
streaming is not a prob, just recording it is. My recording software is
incompatible with streaming.

Audacity will do the trick for free.
if only there were a library of show files. if only on the left of this page.

The file library is great, but I am looking for current, more topical bits.

Is there any way to set Audacity up to record on a schedule?

then you're looking in the wrong place. say for example you were to google "ron fez torrents" and perchance happened to click on the first site that came up and registered and then perhaps there might be a slight chance that you could download recent shows.

or perhaps not

Audacity can't be scheduled. I have Cakewalk Pyro, and it does, but it's not free. Someone on this board told me about a free one that allows for scheduling, but I forgot what it's called.

Thanks guys!

I don't know. I dunno. Idnno. Inno.

I use a program called Total Recorder. It allows you to record at any bitrate you want, and it allows you to record on a schedule.

But it isn't free, I've had it for a few years and I think I payed something like $30. Best software investment I've made for my computer.

Ok, I lost the internet, and I also somehow slammed the file library.
Sorry. Sometimes the little moments on the show will inspire me to
create something. sometimes those little moments aren't in the file
library. I was just wondering if there were any other outlets to get high quality
show audio. it seems that aside from recording the streaming audio
myself, there aren't. The file library stuff will do in a pinch, even
though it is lower quality, it is very well edited and offered for free
to the fans. I appreciate that alot. Most torrents are also lower
quality, to make the file sizes smaller. I guess since my sweepers
won't be any good, this is a moot point.

Isn't XM 202 streamed at 64kpbs ?

I guess if you want any audio better than that you'd have to ask XM for it.
