Speculation: R&F off of XM 202? [Archive]

Maybe I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, but I could have swore that I heard that only O&A will be on XM 202 after it changes to The Virus 202. They played a promo for the name change and I swear to god they said it would be O&A all the time. If this is so, will R&F get a channel? What's the deal? Am I the only one that heard this today?

It's been discussed before.  Opie made an off-hand comment that R&F would be on a new channel, but no official announcement has been made.

Am I the only one that heard this today?   actually, i heard that because of the beef r/f had with o/a a while back, r/f are going to be booted off xm in november.  it is up in the air whether they will go to free-fm or sirius.  this is why there has been a lot of free-fm speculation about them recently.

I was sure that the "violating Fez" thing was a bit, as was all this "Dawn, Anthony's sister" stuff. I hope R&F do go to High Voltage 201 and that wasn't just blowing smoke, because there are never enough replays of R&F. I like O&A too, but I'm partial to R&F. But if R&F do go to 201, what will that do to the timeslots? Will R&F have to share High Voltage with another show? Or have I fallen for more BS? I live in Austin, so if R&F go to free FM I won't get their show anymore. EDIT: I just heard the promo this morning. At the end they say "All O and A, all day." Ug. My head would fucking explode.

i've been tempted to start a new thread (or a poll, i love polls) to see what people know/think is going to happen.  i'm really damn tired of the 12-3 show, or rather i'm tired of missing the show because it's 12-3. maybe i wouldn't mind if the replay schedule didn't blow.

R&F were GOING to be on at 7PM on 202 when they started.  Until Opie quashed the idea because he NEEDED to be on afternoon drive on the West Coast.  Maybe now that O&A have the national exposure they always wanted maybe they will put R&F back where they belong.

I'd love to see O&A in the afternoons again and Ron and Fez after O&A like the WNEW days.  I know it won't happen seeing as O&A are taking over for that hack in the mornings, but it would be awesome to have the WNEW lineup without the FCC choking the shows.I miss Anthony getting loaded and all the guests boozing it up the whole show.  I also miss being able to tune into Ron and Fez when I'm at home and kicking back instead of having to catch a bit on my lunch and between sales calls.  I'd love to see Ron and Fez get their own channel just so we could choose what we want to hear at what times.  I'd even settle for more replays throughout the day.  I mean, I catch 12 to 1 while I'm on my lunch, but the rest of the show is on and off while I stop in on sales calls.  I can never catch it because I'm not about to stay up until 3am to catch a 20 minute piece I missed before the show entered...How about some more time for the boys too?  I don't think you could give R&F enough time.

XM has to start playing the RF replay earlier. I can not listen til 3 am, there is no need to play O an A back to back from 3-730 and 8-12. Split the up with RF. O A RF, O A ,RF, O A. I think that makes much more sense.

I was feeling pretty good seeing as XM seems to really like R&F and with them "relaunching" the station (high voltage 202) that means they might get their own channel and be around more than ever, but there is one option I didn't even consider...Is there another existing channel they might move the boys to?  I mean like a news/sports/etc talk channel?  I can't think of another "XL" station with talk off the top of my head unless they moved to XM Comedy which would be a 180 from where they are at.  This is bad for a couple reasons:1. Again, Opie said that R&F were getting their own channel.  And perhaps that's the "big things" that were in store for Ron and Fez.  Just hold the course, we'll find out in less than a month. The XM "Hot Talk" Channel is controlled by Clear Channel.  So unless XM is going to make a newly branded talk channel, a la Sports Nation, I can see Ron and Fez getting their own channel, with bandwidth donated from other channels going defunct. (Namely, NASCAR)

If there is another station set up, and they fill it with a whole freaken day of content without enough time for rf replays I'll still be dissapointed.Patrice is such a great guest on OA that I'd hate to lose that gimmick too.I think running ron and fez a couple times a day with a show or two here and there would be cool, but filling the lineup with sideshow acts would be counter productive.Why not launch 2 more stations... RF203 and another station with just friends of the shows?  Between RF and OA they should be able to fill a day's worth of time (while still leaving their live shows up against nothing... or replays)

While I am not in favor of R&F going to Free FM, I certainly would love for them to get a big XM push. Their show goes un-noticed most of the time by XM and it's a shame that talent like them are not getting the push and props they decerve.Give them their own channel and let other talent work under them. Since they want to give O&A 24/7, R&F need more replays as well as their own time slot (afternoon drive time)

As a FAN of both radio shows, I believe that there has been tension between them,but in no way do I believe that there is a rift between them. O and A made it perfectly clear when they brought Ron and Fez to 202 that they would repay the loyalty shown them by Ron and Fez.
