10 reasons why gay marriage is wrong

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy
behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has
legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn’t changed
at all; women are still property, blacks still can’t marry whites, and
divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were
allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears’ 55-hour just-for-fun marriage
would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay
couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn’t be allowed to
marry because our orphanages aren’t full yet, and the world needs more
children.

07) Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like
ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country.
That’s why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role
model at home. That’s why we as a society expressly forbid single
parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could
never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven’t adapted to cars,
toilets, or artificial hearts.

Just thought I'd say that the Mark Lewis who is the plaintiff in in the case is an Episcopal minister in Secaucus and that he married my wife and I. We always had our suspicions of him because he refused to live in the free home that was provided adjacent to the church ever since he moved up from wherever he originally lived down south. Instead he was paying for an apartment in Union City where he lived with his partner.

By the time he came out and got invloved in this lawsuit we had moved and no longer belonged to that church. If we were still there we would have supported him but we heard that ALOT of the old, long-time church members stopped attending.

If the gays can be married it will have no effect on straight people or marriage. If you dont think gays should marry then dont marry a gay person. Its like abortion if you dont believe in abortion dont have an abortion. No reason for everyone elses beliefs to be inflicted on others.

If gay marriage is outlawed, only outlaws will be gay.

Just got this breaking news:

-- Gay couples have the same marriage rights as heterosexual couples under the New Jersey state constitution, the state Supreme Court rules.

Good!

No surprise at all, really. I figured NJ was going to pass it. Good for NJ. Way to pass something that common sense says should have been ok a long time ago. I think most people would agree that they don't give a rat's ass who gets married, which makes this an issue mainly for people that like to control what everyone else does because they are miserable bastards.

New Jersey's highest court ruled Wednesday that gay couples are entitled to the same rights as heterosexuals, but that lawmakers must determine whether the state will honor gay marriage or some other form of civil union.

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/10/25/D8KVRMU02.html

They still haven't decided whether they're going to do civil unions or full on homonuptials.

"gave lawmakers 180 days to rewrite marriage laws to either include gay couples or create new civil unions."

Does anyone know the makeup of the legislature in New Jersey? Should be interesting to see where this goes. Doesn't seem to me to be something a court should force legislation into doing.
