If it were O & A offering a "freebie" (before Free-FM, of course) Howard would be saying that they were getting desperate. He did it when they took the premium price off of 202 (which was initially put in place to make sure the "mature audience" thing was being addressed, it had nothing to do with the popularity of the show). Why is Howard not being desperate now?

Is it a free trial for Stern only, or all of the programming on Sirius? They're pushing a new "CD-quality" sound internet stream, which makes no real sense to me if it's just Stern.

I can listen to the XM feed at either a 32 or 64 stream, without a preference for either if I'm listening to 202. To me, the benefit of the high-bandwidth stream would be with the music channels, not the talk channels. You don't need super high quality sound to listen to people talk.

Just to satisfy my curiousity, I signed up for the trial to see what its all about. Wow, he is truly awful. He has Roger Daltry in studio but Pete Townsend who was supposed to be there has backed out due to Howard's rants against him during the whole child porn thing that he was cleared of. Just listening to Howard grovel and suck up in order to try and convince Roger to call him to join him on the air so he can apologize is cringeworthy, and not in a funny way. Plus, they have Robin's mic up way too high, is she now an official co-host? It is unlistenable. I have since turned it off.

Have to say, I have yet to laugh or even be interested in what's going on. And what's the deal with him still doing live commercials on satellite? I was hoping to get laughs out of Artie, but so far nothing. But it is nice to hear Stern right now than O&A * I love those guys.

I listened quite a bit when he started, but then really got too busy to support more than one radio show these day - I enjoyed it - Artie makes me laugh - Fred is always one of my favorites - and the rest of his zoo crew I will always have a fondness for. I thought the roasts were a riot - lots of things he was trying I dug - but, like i said, if I have time for only one radio show it's really no contest.

Fan or not, if Howard and O&A got along things would be cool.

Both the shows are ego-driven and decadent. I've got enough "Look at me Look at me" assholes in my life without listening to them all day on the radio. O&A and Howard getting along would amount to nothing but a group of middle aged-men listing their accomplishments.

That being said, I love O&A. But I've had enough of a hard time digesting the sheer volume of the "Aren't we great?!" shit lately to even want to fathom if Grandma Stern and the boys started patting each other on the back.
