I'm not entirely sure, but I think you can do that with Goldwave. Download the trial and give it a shot.

I just got a "Plantronics Audio 510 USB" headset. The sound on the headphones is awesome, and I'm amazed at the voice recording quality.

Here's my question. I'm trying to figure out how to record my voice, while at the same time, record what's playing on my computer. For instance... say I have an MP 3 on my comp, and I want to be able to record me talking over it.

I've tried several different preference settings on both Audacity and Cakewalk Pyro. I've also noticed I can't listen to anything that is plugged into my "line-in" through the headphones. That's not much of a problem, but it would be nice. This is the first time I've ever had a mic/headphone combo that's USB.

Everything that you hear through your headphones is controlled by the volume control panel in Windows (the speaker icon in your task bar or Accessories>Entertainment>Volume Control.). Everything playing on the computer is controlled by the "Wave" fader. "Microphone" is for your mic and "line-in" is for your line-in. Check line-in to see if it's muted or the volume is all the way down.
Everything that is recorded by the computer is controlled by the recording control panel. You can get to this in the same window by going to options>properties, then clicking the "recording" radio button. Only one channel can be selected to record from. If you want to record from just your mic, check the box under that channel, same for line-in. However, if you want to record everything (or rather, everything that you hear in your headphones (basically how it's setup in the volume control panel)), choose "Stereo mixer". Then, you can control the volume of each item in the volume control panel.
