Sure, Vetrans Day, but that's not as important as drinking German beer and eating German food.

Annual Karneval at Loreley.

It's a costume party (if you feel like wearing one) that consists of drinking tons of German beer and eating German food.

Anyone going? I ended up there last year and it was packed. I also ended up drinking many a bierstein. It's good times.

Don't forget to add the bar on your Myspace!

I never got Vetrans Day off from school so it doesnt really count as a holiday. I didn't even know it was Vetrans day this weeked until about 2 days ago, either. I haven't seen any Vetrans Day sales on the TV so I had no way of finding out it was supposed to be a day off.

But Karneval, how could I forget a day dedicated to drinking beer and eating meat? That's something worth remembering.

To me that validates Christmas (okay, 'Holiday shopping', but I know what they are getting at even if they are afraid to say it) as a holiday but I found nothing at all telling me about sales or discounts for this coming weekend. If they want this weekend to be a real American holiday and celebrated by us why aren't the stores pushing it? I see no car sales on TV, no discounts at JC Penney's, nothing.
