Hi everyone, new poster here but here's my question to all you computer savvy fellas (or fella-ets):

So I got a pioneer inno and I like the recording function but you can't rip it to mp3 format on your own pc for personal listening. I am wondering if there is a program out there that may let me do it. If I plug up the inno to the computer and play it through the speakers, is there a program that will digitally record the music while it is playing on the computer? I figure that would give you the opportunity to then save the music so you don't have to delete it when your 8 hours of recording is done. I'm interested in what you have to say since you're pretty much smarter than me.

Thanx!

You can record way more than eight hours on the Inno.
Depends how much you want to spend and what your needs are. If you want portable the Inno and Helix are basicly the same unit and you get live programs on the go. The Nexus is cheaper, but you only get live stuff if it's docked. Then you have the older generation portable MyFi's.
If you put the unit into the line in of your computer, any program that records, like Audacity (a free recorder), will be able to store and record what you are playing through it. At this time, I do not know of anything better then this.

its a pain in the ass recording from the inno to audacity, having to stop recording and name each track separately, when there are more than 300 songs on the inno. Is there a way to record all of the songs as a stream, and then cut up the stream into seperate tracks and name them? Am I missing something, or is there an easier way.

My inno is about to die, and I don't want to lose my library when it does.

Buddies, thanks for the info! My inno screen goes blank sometimes, I worry about storing my precious ron & fez on such a piece of electronic crap. :smoke:

Inno(or another receiver) +http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/6210/audioextensioncable2.jpg(3.5mm audio cable) + line-in connector of sound card of computer + Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) w/ LAME (http://lame.sourceforge.net/)
+ 1:1 amount of time (plus any time editing&compiling)

You could play through it through your computer's speakers while but you won't be able to do much on your computer.

Would that also work with the XMP3 player?

I'd love to convert my xm recordings to mp3

It should work but make sure the male/male ends of the 3.55mm audio cable can fit in the headphone jack.
