What is the difference between LCD & plasma TVs? When I go to the store they both look the same, flat, hang on a wall etc. But what is the difference and which is better to own and why?

Hey budday...there are some significant differences between the two formats you mention. How do you plan on using the TV (gaming, dvd watching, hddvd and/or blueray, TV - HD or SD TV?) Where do you plan to put your TV? In a brightly lit room? Is the TV gonna be near a window where the sun will be shining in all day?

Doing the same research myself right now and I'm close to landing the 1080p Pioneer Elite or Ronco. Tough call and they're both plasma even though I do game and tivo a decent amount.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Go for the 100 inch High Def. DLP screen for under 2,000.00.

I am just looking for the best TV possible to game on. If my TV is on, it's mostly for games, heroes, or the occasional movie. I need something that can make a xbox360 look amazing... around the same size as a 36" tube TV... and a reasonable price. What is reasonable? I have no clue. I don't evne have the fucking 360 yet, so it's still a while off, but...

what is the best HD TV for gaming (xbox360)?

My high def channels look great even in a well lighted room. I have a problem with only a few channels that are darker than others. I had to close a shade to watch Star Wars over the weekend because it was on a shitty channel. I would go for 2500 lumens+. At 3500 lumens you can watch it outside. Mine is 2300 and I'm extremely satisfied even if I have to close a shade once in a while.

Video games look great. It's sick playing Playstation in a movie theatre!
