Throw in a little Jump Blues from the 40's (Wynonie Harris, Big Joe Turner, Big Mama Thornton) and I'm there.

Seriously, the local Jazz station (WBGO 88.3) does some doo wop on Saturday mornings and sunday nights. I like to listen to it every now and then. I'll check you out bro.

I'm sorry I didn't know the rules, because I am not that message-board savvy. The United In Group Harmony Association exists to expose the less explored sides of the genre...so -- uh, no Maestro, Valli or any of the other commercial groups; that's precisely NOT what it's about...you can see those groups anywhere. See the real urban streetcorner deal at UGHA events only.

I have a neighbor whose teen son is into some kind of noise called Doo-Woop music? I hear him blasting it from his car, and the so called singing cracks me up. Is it a gay thing? I never see him hanging with chicks? Can someone please tell me what's the story with this awful noise?

Obviously, you just don't get it...not only the art form, but the spelling too. Too sophisticated for you, perhaps.

I meant the comment to be targeted to the person who wrote about the neighbor's teenage son listening to doo-woop (sic), and I thought I clicked in the right place to post this, but I guess I messed up...sorry.

I think I caught this show on two weeks ago somewhere down the dial and couldn't find it again, now I know where to get it!

If it wasn't your show (I am a little bit far away from teaneck for this station) it was one just like it. I happened to run into it while tuning for my myfi to 88.1. I listened to the rest of it and was sad when it was over. I think it was a guy hosting though on second thought. At any rate, I was digging it in a big big way and will look out for yours. Since then I have been spending time at XM 60. Every now and again they go doo wopp.
