Monty Brown signs with WWE Nov. 15, 2006Monty Brown, formerly of the Buffalo Bills, has signed with World Wrestling Entertainment. Stay tuned to WWE.com for more information.Now, with that being said.. dont you think they wasted the "MVP gimmick" on Montel Vontavious Porter? Monty Brown, no matter how much i think he sucks, is MUCH better suited for that character.

i think monty is an awful wrestler. he's very charasmatic on the mic, but he just doesnt have "it" to entertain me as a wrestler. that being said. wwe can make him A HUGE FUCKING STAR! they really can do it, if they do it well. also, monty is the first tna home grown star to leave, there were a few others before, (i think frankie kazarian was the biggest name) but monty was a main eventer.  well see what they do. as long as they dont do that POOOOOUNNNNNCE shit, itll be good.. but then again, a monty brown promo is almost like watching the ultimate warrior.. just menton serenghetti (spelling, who cares? ) instead of warriors.

We all know Vince loves making guys who came from WcW and ECW strugge like crazy.  Monty is the first MAJOR TNA star to come to WWE. No way is he going to do well. He will lose lose and lose some more. That way Vince is showing these TNA guys can't make it in WWE.

The WWE had to throw major $$$$ at Monty to sign him, as he was making tons of dollars with the light TNA schedule, and his personal training business.   They will build him up to be a superstar.  They will fully capitalize on his NFL background, something Tenay tried, but in general TNA dropped the ball on.  They will portray him as toatally legit due his playing on Super Bowl teams.  I don't think Vince will try to "bury the WCW/ECW star" with a new name and gimmik like he did with Lugar, 2Cold Scorpio, etc.  The WWE sucks right now, and Monty isn't a good worker, but he has tons of charisma and is a great signing for the WWE.

Vince burried Goldberg for the year he was there, and Goldberg really didn't want to be there anyway so it kind of worked itself out. What will happen is Vince will have Monty in a couple of high level feuds, having him squashed for the first couple of months and do the loayalty jobs, then after Wrestlemania start building him into his own property.  I don't know if he'll be able to handle it, and I never really cared for him anyway, but new blood is new blood, and the WWE sorely needs it.

It doesn't matter what the casual WWE fan knows, it's what Vince knows. And I agree, if TNA has a quarter of the average audience that the WWE does it would be alot, but it's just the common practice.

Man was I wrong.  Vince is an idiot.  He has a ready made marketing tie in with Monte's NFL background, and instead he doesn't use his real name, and he buries him in ECW.

Agreed, but Vinnie is just burying the natural tie in with a legitimate NFL player and Super Bowl starter by not using his real name.  Vinnie loves to show NFL players in the front row at Raw.  Here he has a real deal one, and he doesn't use the NFL and buries him in the joke that ECW is.
