View Full Version : Ron & Fez Daily Show Wiki idea

Hey buddies...I was thinking that a Daily Show Wiki might be cool.  A way to capsule and digest the show on a daily basis, with some soundclips, a log, etc. but done by as many people as would like to participate.  I created one using a free Wiki farm thing at:  http://ronandfez.wetpaint.com/page/November+17%2C+2006+-+Friday Sorry I don't get HTML and don't see a linky button above.  I tried to set down a template, and did some stuff for a few of the days last week...but it's still something very much in the concept stage. I always wanted something that presented the show in a quick clear way...so I could catch up and get a sense of what happened if I missed a show.Anyway, if anyone wants to join, please pm me.   :)

furie wrote: seems like a lot of work. i don't think i could devote time to this.The cool thing about Wikis is that you don't really have to put in much time at all. The power of the Wiki comes from the group.  If there's no "group" that develops, then the idea will go away.  The Wiki, as I see it, would be an extension of the Listening Thread.  There wouldn't be any formal responsibilities.  You'd just contribute whatever occurred to you as important and it would get edited into the whole.  It's just a slightly more formal way of thinking about the show. I like making things like this and like thinking about the show in a thematic kind of way.  If it doesn't fly, it doesn't.

i like it, but it does look like a lot of work.  i'm pretty lazy and my schedule makes me miss the show more than i'd like, so i don't think i'd be the best to rely on for help.   the main thing i think it would have over the listening thread is that it's all on one page.  many times i've tried to go back and find a link or something and had to go through 20 pages of a listening thread before i just give up and ask mikeyboy.also, i didn't know earl intro'd with amoreena. i miss all the good stuff.

I jotted stuff down into the Wiki as the show progressed...then cleaned it up later. So originally it was filled with junk...this and that...when a song was played, I noted it etc. and then afterword I trimmed it down. I believe that a lot of people can have the page open and all of their edits will get "conferenced together" when they hit their own save.The weirdness and greatness of the Wiki is that people have different interests, information, etc and would work on the Wiki according to their own want, ability.  Some people might streamline the text, correct spelling, and others might have a good sense of what the line of the day is.  Other people might have a good idea about what the overall feel of the show was. Etc.

So if you download them, you should be able to access the list. Also, if you go to the Atoms, Motion & the Void thread, I list the music for each show there. But I may have done a bad job...was there any song in particular? BIG AAAA! Now I'm gonna go fetch me some Fonz-AAAAA!Edit:  FP, I stuck the Fonzie Big A photoshop you did onto the Wiki with attribution.
