Grew up on Fla wrestling, went to a match, the main card was Dusty Rhodes VS Ivan Koloff, everone is rooting for Dusty, including me and younger brother , our dad is rooting for Ivan. Anyway Ivan wins the match. We wait and get some autographs , then leave to go home. We stop at the convience store , and who's inside- Ivan Koloff. Me and my brother would not get out of the car. Our dad goes in and walks right up to Ivan and starts talking to him, me and my brother are going nuts in the car. Out the door come our dad with Ivan Koloff, we lock the doors , but eventually our dad got us out. Ivan sat both of us up on the hood of the car and talked to us, signed a bunch of autographs and gave us some T-shirts plus $10 to go buy all tha candy we wanted.

I met cactus jack before he jumped to WWF and became Mankind. He was at Adventureland a shitty amusement park on Long Island. I was a ride operator and he didn't have enough tickets so I let his kid go on the ride again for free. He said "But we don't have enough tickets". I said "We make some exceptions" I called in with this same story once so if you've heard it I apologize.

I met the Nasty Boys, Sting, and the Ultimate Warrior at some event at Disney when I was 4.

The Nasty Boys were really nice, Sting was just kinda there, and Warrior was...well...he was Warrior- an ass.

For tall guys like me, there's something called "TMA" - tall man acknoledgement. That is when two big guys pass each other in the street and nod or say hey for absolutely no reason other that you are both freaks of nature.

I had TMA with Vince McMahon in Rockefeller Center once. Even at 50-something he still looks like he could totally kick my ass.

Then again it could be a gay thing and I'm just oblivious to it. Oh well.

A friend of mine grew up in the Cincinati area and lived near Randy Savage. In '83 my friend was about eleven years old and he was a huge Savage fan. He would see Savage in the neighborhood every once in a while and they would talk wrestling. One day Savage invited my friend into his house and said there was someone he should meet. They walked into kitchen and Jerry Lawler was sitting there having coffee. You gotta remember, these guys were huge rivals. After Savage calmed my friend down they sat with Lawler and talked about how wrestling was about showmanship and giving the fans what they want. You have to admit, that's a cool way to be brought into the "secret".

On the other hand, my great grandmother believed it was real her entire life and she loved the hell out of it. That brings up my question... would you rather go back and live in ignorant bliss about wrestling or is it better to know the whole story?
