I Hate Songs When Singers Say Thier Names Thread

We've seen it over the years with a lot of popular music, though of late it's just getting more and more common and annoying. I hate it when these artists/singers have to sing or say their name and anyone else who'se involved in the record within the song itself from other singers to producers, whoever. For the most part it seems to be urban/hiphop music, from the song "Smack That" by Akon or "Gimme That" by Chris Brown, or "Give it Up to Me" by Sean Paul they feel they need to verbally announce that they are the ones singing the songs. Chris Brown has to sing that Scott Storch produced the song or Akon has to croon that Eminem is on the song etc, or someone will mention Timbaland. Enough already. if I like a song enough I'll look it up and see who else is on it. I don't need them annoucing who's on it.

The most annoying is sean paul. He says his name in every song he has out there! Like we didn't know it was sean paul based simply on his annoying voice. The&nbsp;worst thing about it is that&nbsp;sean and paul are the only 2 words that I understand in his songs

I'm kinda with ya and kind of not.&nbsp; I've made the concious decision that I no longer care one bit about lyrics, words should follow in a somewhat coherent pattern, but more importantly they should fit the music. That said its pretty rare that you can place your own name in a song and make it work.&nbsp;&nbsp; How about The Monkees?&nbsp; That was a pretty catchy tune.
