For me, the best feature on the show are the Ron interviews.......I am torn between the Sidney Pollack interview talking about his documentary on architecture, and the first John Mayer interaction, and the woman who made the independant film about the 50's blonde bombshell, Betty...... Ron was taken aback by the woman's "normalcy" expecting a much harder, gritty woman. I know there were better ones, i.e James Frey, just not coming to mind...... The most overrated, to me, was Clyde. Sorry, but I never was a Knicks fan, and to me, Earl the Pearl was as flamboyant and a better player when he played for the bullets..... Blowhard is always interesting, especially when he got worked up about the gentrification of his transitioning neighborhood, but I guess you can't really regard him as a special guest like Pollack, etc...

Anthony Bourdain, Matthew Modine, Kurt Angle and anytime Gail O was on the phone.

Clyde made me want to get into basketball, albeit the basketball I watched as a kid. And I can't stand the sport today, so I'd put that one up at the top. Then John Mayer and Sydney Pollak.

He and RB really seemed to hit it off. Great stories, anecdotes, and insights to food, travel, and life in general. Sorry, but Gail O is pornographic. Modine really good stuff, too. I think part of the reason must go to the interviewer...

My favorite was Dick Rude, the director of the Joe Strummer documentary "Let's Rock Again." I loved his stories. Gilliam and Clyde were a close second. Honorable mention has to go to Shirley Phelps Roper. She makes my blood boil, yet Ron and Fez are able to mock her while asking serious questions as well. It's the only time I can listen to her without wanting to strangle her.

i would say bourdain (the first one - not sure if it was in 2006) was the best celeb interview. i was really disappointed in alton brown - love his shows but he was a boring interview...

Anthony Bourdain, Dick Rude, Alton Brown (even if it wasn't well received) and Lou Dobbs

Pondering the question, I think it's reasonable to mention the back-to-back interviews of George Romero and Burt Bacharach, both of which were pretty forgettable but it really showed how versatile Ron can be as a host.

Without a doubt, John Mayer was the best because a) it was an unscheduled "drop in" that took Ron by surprise, and b) John Mayer was such a fan of the show that he actually premiered his latest hit single that day. Every time I hear that song played somewhere I think about that interview.

Michael Keen

Although this guy was there as recently as last week, Bob Balaban was great. Being a huge fan of those mockumentary's made his comments even more interesting. Great insight as to how they are crafted. The Seinfeld background, Elaine's orgasm possibility, was just great stuff. I also thought he was the guy in the sequel, 2010, that was never brought up.Too tired to go on IMDB. Having to constantly travel, and having a solid 3-6 hours of unheard, pre-recorded R&F on my myfi, is like preparingto eat a thick juicy steak. The hard rock dude was interesting, as well as the Wolfgangs vault second appearance. It's the best fucking thing goin, Today!

I gotta agree with Terry Gilliam. But if any of the Pythons were on I'd say the same.

After that I gotta go with Chuck Palahniuk. I knew he wrote FIGHT CLUB but didn't know much about the rest of his stuff. Based on the interview I bought his other stuff. Haven't been disappointed.

Looking over the thread it is amazing how many FANTASTIC interviews they have done within the past year. I couldn't pick just one.

Well except for Big A.
