May day, May Day, calling all pests.  (He will probably take a vacation day from Letterman)    From another site: "He also said yesterday that it would be next Tuesday. This is from yesterdays rundown, "When Howard announced he might be appearing on “Late Show with David Letterman” a week from tomorrow, John told him he should “whip out his schlong” on the air. As John continued to give suggestions to Howard – like that he should “stick straws up strippers’ p*ssies and asses” on “Late Show” – Robin commented she thought John should be added to Howard’s writing team. Artie then said he was booked to be on “Late Show” as well, and that his appearance will be early next month." (I am sure everyone knows that O & A will be on Leno 12/21/06)

If this was 1986 instead of 2006, I'd say great.  Both of those guys has seen better days.As an aside, I never understood Letterman's facination with Stern.  Howard used to rip him to shreds, mock and belittle him regularly.  Maybe it was the ratings boost but Letterman has been winning in the ratings for a decade.

Just like they trashed free FM. No biggie, just business. It's funny how much more respect I have for wrestling these days. My understanding of the ratings for the two shows is that Leno routinely beats Letterman, unless he has a big guest on, and then he will beat Leno. For example, he got a huge audience for Michael Richards' bizarre apology a few weeks back.

Its actually not a bad set for hoo hoo howie.  Dave seems so much more relaxed with him as opposed to OnA. I mean they have a past together but its just a totally different vibe. I still think Stern is a hack who is on the show only to sell shit.

I was an occasional listener of Howard in the early mid 90s then he got old to me. Seein him on letterman he has not changed. HE thinks its all about him. HE doesnt have anything to say. HE also is used a clip on letterman that was dated. He stunk if he was trying to sell his show. As a guest he was just like a hollywood type. BORING!
