Yeah, Ron Diaz was the other Ron. They had an on-air fight, which is on the Ron and Ron Website and that is when they broke up.

I think Fez like a sidekick in the Ron & Ron show. Think of it like this, say O&A are together and one day they have a fight and Opie walks out. Anthony and Norton come together and form their own show. I think thats kinda how it happened.

IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

Fez was also on the show, he was a sidekick. When Ron and Ron broke up, Ron and Fez started on their own.

I checked out the Ron & Ron site. Could not find exact dates but the archive pictures are from 1988 to 1997. Many adult oriented visits in the years 1996 & 1997.(Tampa, the adult entertainment capital of the world).

I've been to Tampa myself. A huge topeless & nude bar scene down there. Seems like the cities number one industry.

I used to live in Tampa. Most of the "Gentlemen's Clubs" were trash. A few nice ones. Next time you're in Tampa hit Ybor City. Trust me.

Yeah, they were pretty wild and wacky. A good friend of mine, who grew up there, said he used to listen to them when they were in Tampa, and thought they were hilarious.
He now writes for SNL.

So I ask again, when did the show air? What years?

The site is not clear.

Chet

I can't access the ron and ron website (my company has "filters" that won't let me go to sites with "naughty" pictures), but I'm sure I saw them there. Keep looking.

Bubba the Love Spounge...
I heard him when I visited Tampa. He was annoying and way to load. Anyway, he was that DJ who was arrested, and I think hes in jail right now. Apperently he killed a few animals live on his show, and played a few sound effects in the background.
Thanks to PETA hes in a jail.

The syndicated Ron and Ron show i believe goes all the way back to either 1987 or 1988. What i do know for sure is that Ron Diaz quit the show in early 1997, after that he was replaced with Ronny Hayes. The show was cancelled and soon after, the Ron and Fez show started in august of '98.

Thanks Heroin Bob. I can't do a lot of research where I work because of their web filters (f-ing corporate motherf-ers).

Check this site out for history and sound clips:

http://www.criticalmas.com/radio/ronandfez/home.asp He may have some server problems, so check back.

I've been in Tampa (and still am) for most of my life and can tell you that the Norton analogy is pretty close. Ron & Ron started in Tampa, and were syndicated through the Southeast U.S. They had a contract problem with WYNF and moved to another part of the state to keep the network going. Problems followed and Ron Diaz returned to Tampa and is still doing mornings on a classic rock station.

As for Bubba, if they were on the air at the same time, Bubba would have been the night jock (slot R&F have now). He was on the teeny bobber station. He moved to mornings at the rock station after R&R were gone from the area.

Bubba still dominates the male demo in the morning because of lack of competition, not talent. We have NO syndicated shows on here.

He has surrounded himself with some very talented and funny people who carry the show with the little air time they get. He is not funny, and is a big fat white guy who tries to talk like a black guy (insert Ani DiFranco here), and is constantly on his political soapbox.

The rumors are flying down here about 2 national morning shows coming to the area (Stern and Lex and Terry). If these rumors are true, Bubba will fade fast.

If I'm not mistaken, Tampa has now ruined it's adult scene by passing a law that requires strippers to leave a 5-foot radius between them and their customers. Geez, if I have to be five feet away, I'd be better off watching my TV...

Close. It SIX feet. Thankfully, they enforce it almost never, and then it's the dancers who get busted. Customers just have to leave. Er, um.... or so I've heard.

Damn what is the Guilliani curse going down to Florida now...I mean dont get me wrong, I love the Mayor of NYC, but his strip club laws are one of the worst. And now it seems that it is spreading like a virus. I went to Ybor and I loved it, was fucking great...had mad fun there. Now I know why Strawberry is off the Yankees and lives in Tampa, great party city. BJ's galore!!!

Everytime I drive down to Florida I am met with these really BORING hosts of the morning show called the Bob and Tom show...anyone else ever heard of them? Also, I heard some funny station down in the Jacksonville area last time I was down there, they were doing a bit in downtown where a homeless person had to catch quarters being tossed at them in one hand. If they caught like 8 in the one hand without dropping one, they would get something like $10, but if they dropped one, they lost everything. It was very, very funny, yet sick.
