I know this should probably be in the Old School discussion board, but since it's Wrasslin' I thought I'd post here.

I kinda remember him. I read about him and have seen videos. He was a tough bastard. I have a copy of WCW's Slamboree 1994, when they used to induct old-timers into their HOF. His son and daughter were there to accept his plaque.

Who was his tag-team partner? Was is Ray Stevens? Were they NWA champions?

He was really old-school, but I can't remember his partner's name. My kindergarten schoolteacher showed us a wrestling magazine with him on the cover and said "He's my boyfriend" Apparently it was true, and he was supposed to show up to school or something but it never worked out. He was a real mean bastard and pretty gruesome. I remember seeing him with blood all over his face and just going beserk on this one - kind of a frightening thing when you are just a wee lad.

I don't remember if they were NWA champions or not. But he definitely goes down as a hall-of-famer in my book.

And to think there was wrestling before WWF. :)

In my day, they called it Wrasslin', and most of it looked like the wrestlers you see on Spanish TV shows today.

God, I'm old.

There really was wrestling before the WWF? I thought Vince invented wrestling.
