What's your favorite Christmas Music? I love Christmas Music and I'm on the hunt for more good stuff.

Some of my favorites that are in heavy rotation this year:

Phil Spector - A Christmas Gift For You
Just an outstanding album front to back

Leon Redbone - Christmas Island
It makes me want to hang my stocking on a great big cocoanut tree.

Squirrel Nut Zippers - Christmas Caravan
Flavor.

The Ventures - Christmas Album
Goofy goodness. Sleigh Ride is not to be missed. And Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer meets The Beatle's I Feel Fine for some strange reason we are clearly not meant to understand.

Beatles - Complete Christmas Collection
John Paul George and Ringo. Wine to Pot to LSD. It's all there, with a christmassy sort of theme to it.

South Park - Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics
Worth it just for The Most Offensive Song Ever.

The Beach Boys - Christmas With The Beach Boys
Just good. Pretty and good. I never need to hear Little Saint Nick again though.

Dr. Seuss "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" Soundtrack
From the TV show, not the movie, of course.

Time-Life Treasury of Christmas, Volumes 1 & 2
An excellent compendium of more traditional christmas music

Bing Crosby - White Christmas
A must. Just put the fact that he beat his children like rented mules out of your mind. It helps to just not think about that while enjoying the cool crooning of warm Christmas tidings. Just don't think about it.

Reverend Horton Heat - We Three Kings
I love RHH, this album is still growing on me.

My Favorite Christmas Song right this second --
Jingle Bells performed by Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters -- it swings!

I love that Squirrel Nut Zippers album as well. And I have two Elvis sings
Christmas tunes albums with favorites like "Blue Christmas" and "Santa
bring my baby back (to me)." Classic.
Also worth mentioning is "Christmas Grass" -- mostly instrumental
christmas songs bluegrass style by various artists. Really beautiful music.

I just put some CD I bought awhile ago in my iPod. It's Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole singing classic Christmas songs.

Just a heads up to XM owners: Their Christmas channels are actually very good. I told my mother about them and she hasn't turned the one Traditional Christmas channel off since. In usual XM fashion, not a lot of bumpers, just a lot of music. There's like 5 of them ranging from wacky songs to traditional and some more rockin' ones too.

Ahhh, great Christmas songs is probably a much better angle. Some of my favs have already popped up -- Christmas in Hollis is a requirement. As is Father Christmas.

I'll throw these out:

Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses

Christmas Blues - Canned Heat

No Presents For Christmas - King Diamond

Christmas All Over Again - Tom Petty

Christmas Baby Please Come Home - U2

Feliz Navidad - Jose Feliciano (Light my Fire! Light my Fire! Light Light Light Light My Fire!)

Good King Wencelas (sp?) - REM

Christmas With The Devil - Spinal Tap

EDIT - damn good point WhistlePig -- Elvis! Momma loved the roses... Elvis' Christmas Album totally has to be on the list.

I'm partial to the Vandals' X-Mas album with such songs as Oi! to the World (as covered by No Doubt) and Christmas for my Penis

The Little Drummer Boy as covered by Bing Crosby and David Bowie. Oh Holy Night too, thanks to the church scene in Home Alone.
