I used to be a big Squeeze fan, but have never heard his solo stuff before, but he sounded fantastic. My only complaint: He was on too short.

I really enjoyed it, too. It's possible that Glen had to be somewhere, I'm sure that Ron would have talked to him more if he coulda?

Earl enjoyed it - to a degree.

I'm sure he allowed Glen to wet his beak with a prize package.

Glenn Tillbrook is a really fine guitarist, aside from his impressive pipes. He was actually the original lead guitarist in the great English band the Only Ones ("Another Girl, Another Planet") He was sacked for being too much of a wheeddler/deeddler player, odd since he was so tasteful in Squeeze.

I enjoyed it a lot, but the after stuff was very odd.

I might be mistaken, but I could swear Tillbrook was on the show about a year ago. Ronnie asked him if he'd ever been on XM before and I was waiting for him to say "Yes...on YOUR show!"

He seems like a nice enough fellow, but he bored the piss out of me.

Big Squeeze fan back in the day, I enjoyed both songs and thought the segment was too short.

I'm pissed I missed the show today. I saw Glenn Tillbrook at BB king's recently. Great show. I met Squeeze at JFK airport in the early 80's when they were promoting "Singles". They flew over on the Concorde and gave away very cool t-shirts to everone who showed up. I wish I still had it.

Yes, it was...weird.

I like how Ron can make Earl go back on any statement he makes by asking "Did you?" or "Was it?"

I feel like Earl was supposed to do something around the Glenn (with all the n's!) interview that didn't get done.

at first i thought maybe shark got through on the phone...but i dont remember hearing any calls.

so it just came off like when ron said "he wouldn't have gotten past" that it was about the guest himself.

earl's response, though, was crazed - even for earl. as though "to a degree" was to cover his ass so that ron didn't get pissed at earl for doing something wholly selfish.

I remember Heckler calling in and asking him to play a little "Black Coffee in Bed".

Just got around to listening to yesterday's show and, from the kidney shots that Earl took from Ron afterwards, it's my impression that Earl was told not to put Tillbrook on the show but ignored the order or got rolled by the publicist. Real Mad Ron is indeed scary.

I enjoyed the segment though. But then I enjoy NPR once in a while.

I probably eat too much soy. ;)
