I'd change the light blue background on the site for either black or a tartan plaid.And introduce new forums for Porn, Smoked and Cured Meats, and Booze.And I'd air out the Mod room.  It smells like a stale fart in there.

I have a serious suggestion. What about a NSFW thread (or even Topic, if it grows and is popular). Where anything goes, and you know what you're getting into when you click it. Basically, we have that now, but you're leaving it up to people to remember to tag their links. If its a topic, then Mods could dump troublesome threads there. Or if its a thread, just direct people to take certain activities to that thread.   If a Mod will give me permission, I'll start one tonite. "The Official NSFW thread"

Anywhere I've used a computer where they do block sites based on content,
this site has been blocked. Is a NSFW forum really going to make a
difference if this site is already being blocked, anyway?

places that ban rf.net ban it more because we used to be on foundry's servers than because of our content.we discussed the nsfw topic idea, but we just felt it wasn't the direction we wanted to take the board.  we wanted to keep it a work friendly environment overall.

Just to get real for a second, I think all of us at one point have wished we were a Mod.  I think we're curious about what it would be like to have some power, see what's talked about in the Staff Room, basically see what we're not seeing.But after awhile, you start to figure out that it's probably not all it's cracked up to be.  When you are an enforcer of the rules, you're ALWAYS going to piss someone off and look like the bad guy.  It's also kind of a thankless, payless responsibility.I think everyone who's been around for awhile just reaches a point where they're not worried about Modship anymore.  People like Spoon, Tenbats, Myself and others who just say what they're thinking for better or worse have given up, if just in out own minds, the chance of ever being staff members here in exchange for being ourselves.  That includes being assholes from time to time.That's why I said I don't want Mod status anymore.  I wasn't trying to be 'Too cool' I just know that the Mods have to act a certian way.  It may be natural for the Mods we have, but I know it's not for me.  I want to be able to yell and bitch, crack racial jokes and then not sign on for days if I feel like it.  The Mods have to mend bridges, abide by the rules here, be on regularly and generally be nice to most people.

The whole "why can't we have nudity on the site?" argument came up years ago when I was a moderator here.  My answer now is the same as it was then - God knows there are plenty of places to go on the internet for nudity.  I kinda like that this place is safe for everyone.
