Older R&F Listeners - Cool or Immature? [Archive]

At 49 I sense that I am on the older end of the listening audience. But I
absolutely love Ron and Fez. (Thank God Fezzy is always throwing in references
only some of us old farts get!). The thread talking about a possible move to free
fm to draw the younger male audience made me think. Is there something
wrong with me that I love this show?

I thought about calling the show and asking Ronnie but I thought the call would
go something like this..

Ronnie: Rick, Rick you're on Ron & Fez

Rick: Yea Ronnie, I'm 49 and love your show. Does that make me cool are
immature?

Ronnie: If you have to ask, Peter Pan then you are definitely not cool. Try
listening to Hannity or NPR.

I think... KOOL.  I just hit 33 and I remember when I was 17 I thought 33 was old as fuck.  Now looking back from here it's not that bad... plus the time's they are a-changin'...  Look at all the radio hosts they are all in their 40's.  Howard is in his 50's and I'm pretty sure Imus is really dead but they are using some robot/AI thing to keep his show going...  as "they" say 50 is the new 30 so that makes me 13... and I'll say this... I'm the baddest 13 year old muthafucker I know.  werdisborn.

I think of O and A as kind of immature,  but that's kind of the fun.   Ron and Fez however, are sophisticated and refined.

I hear older and I just think further back in the R&F earlier days. Driving a truck all day, the age thing really doesn't click in my mind since 99.9% of the people I interact with are older than my 27 year old ass. I miss the younger days of interning with the guys though.  Kerouac

When Fezzy talked about the old school desks with the opening top I have to
admit I had those. In fact some of the older ones still had the hole in the front
where the ink bottle went. This was in the 60's and those types of ink pens
probably hadn't been used in 25 years but the desks were still around.
