Twice already this week Ron has talked about how this website hates women and how all the "good looking" ones have left for other websites.Has this site become a he man woman hater club?  From how he talks about this website it's become a cranky old man joint.

I think what happened is a lot of people with 4 posts that joined 2 days ago come in and start a negative thread about a lady who appears on the show or posts here.  There's something to this "negative vibe" people keep complaining about whether we want to believe it or not.But it's not the regulars in my opinion.  We're all positive or negative at times, but I blame a lot of negative noobs who just don't get the flow of the board yet.  I hope things change because the hosts of the radio show this board was based on are noticing it big time.  Enough to mention it more than once and get us to notice.And I don't want to see women get a free pass or overly preferential treatment, but not the fucking dogpile of negativity that some of them got in the past.

I personally think more ladies seem to be posting in here again.  I take that as a good sign.  We want all kinds of people in here to discuss things.We're gonna have to "eat our own" as O&A put it more often with new people who just come in here to trash.  And not just trash women connected with the show, but assholes who just start threads to bash ANYTHING with the show.  I don't think anyone has a problem with legitimate discussions, but if I see one more "ESD is gay.....BECAUSE!!!" thread I'm gonna shit in my own hat.  We don't need some fucking dipshit cum guzzling noob signing in to bitch about one segment they didn't like on the show.  If we see that, we should politely remind them of their place, and when that doesn't work, flame them into oblivion.

I have not seen this so called "noob bashing the girls that post here" thread, nor do i have any interest in doing so.I think a fair majority of the women who post have taken some jabs from time to time but it's also fair to say it's been equally dished out.Either way if someone truly felt hated i don't believe they'd post here.Also, i don't care if im hated, it would probably only make me post more.

For the record, in the year 2006, only two women have been "attacked" on rf.net. One was talked about on air, and that ended as soon as I saw it (although you guys could have defended her a bit)The other was a woman who came here, made a "look at me" thread and just got trashed by girls and guys alike. Alternatively, in the last few months, we have picked up some fine female posters recently.  Reillyluck (now a mod), herkyjerkyliz, andromray, Poochie, ObeyAni, etc.   (I'm probably missing names, but these stick out in my mind because they are active in the listening thread every day)Plus we have some great female posters who have been here along time, like Fuzzybutt, angrymissy, angelina, etc.

And some of the girls we "lost" wasn't because of the board, it's because they moved on and didn't want to have the board and/or the show a part of their lives anymore.  One of the girls we lost is apparently still part of the show.

OK, first of all, it's the fucking internet...regular posters on a message board, ANY board, are guarenteed to have a female minority.  That's, like, the law of the internet.  Men tend to be much nerdlier than women.Secondly, a lot of the women that have posted here, especially for the first couple of years the board existed, were also regulars or semi-regulars on the show, and as such their posting on the board drew a lot of extra attention...some of it good, but a lot of it bad.Thirdly, and this is true for pretty much any board I've seen, guys tend to not be able to "deal" with women online as just "regular people."  Even the ones that mean well just want to constantly fawn over how "hot" they are or want to talk about anything vaguely sexual or hope the women post pics or whatever.  This isn't always a bad thing and not all women or going to dislike it, but you gotta figure it gets somewhat tiresome after a while.  We've got a lot of posters here that can't even reply to a female poster as just another poster...they HAVE to try and flirt or compliment their looks or something along those lines.  Again, not necessarily bad...but can the appeal really last that long when certain female posters are unable to essentially never have a "normal" conversation here?  Like I said, that's just the internet...it's always going to be a digital sausage-fest.

Like I said, that's just the internet...it's always going to be a digital sausage-fest. i disagree with your initial premise.  maybe most boards, or even the vast majority of boards are dominated by men, but definitely not all of them.  my wife belongs to a few that are like 99% women.  before i came here i thought of message boards as almost totally feminine things, because she would spend hours on end chatting with her online friends.  one started as a wedding planning board, but has since evolved beyond that.  the other is a pregnancy and childbirth board, but has similarly evolved.  the chicks are out there, they just aren't on the messsage boards that would interest you or me, for the most part.

I've been a member for 5 years and a mod for 4 years. I've seen some people bash on some of the RF.net chicks and they were immediately anhiliated. I know someone always "has my back" here. The board changed a lot after O&A got suspended. (We were known as the "nice" board where all the members love each other). It's changed even more since Ron and Fez have been on XM. I'm glad there are more women on the board. And Reillyluck is a mod (I was so lonely!). But goddam, I miss girl germs. She was the coolest chick ever.

A lot of women do post on "female boards". They're exclusive to our own needs and gender stuff. I happen to know for a fact that my sister in law posts regularly on a pregnancy forum with other expecting mothers. I posted on birth control forums for awhile when i was unsure/new to the entire thing....and i've yet to deal with any 'tards or posters who are pretending to be women.Even if they are though, you'd never know. I think it kind've goes the same for men.
