As long as McClain is drunk and pissed off and has , "a really bad hangover"...it should be okay. Bring back Richard Peck too.

Nope. He'll be married to Anna Nichole Smith and they're toying with two working titles: It will either be called "Die Hard: Soon!" or "Die Hard: Die Soft".

I saw this ending before a couple of years ago (perhaps on the DVD?). I thought it was a better ending myself, but I sort of understand why they didn't go with it.
It's a little drawn out for your typical Die Hard movie.

Actually, he shoots some telephone wires with the last bullet he has and those wires hit Simon's helicopter and as it tries to move away it crashes and explodes. Yippy Ki Aye mutherfucker.
I think they bring it up in the new trailer when McClane kills a helicopter with a car his son asks him why he did that and he responds "I ran out of bullets."
I'm kind of disappointed with how it looks to be completely honest. What made Die Hard so awesome was that it was an "average" guy in a crazy-yet-somewhat-realistic situations. This one just seems like a traditional overthetop actioner. Flying cars, crazy stunts, Kevin Smith acting *shudder*, the big viilain is a computer hacker? It's not the down to earthness I expect in my Die Hard. And I don't like him having partners. Also it's PG-13. Though his daughter is really hot (Mary Elizabeth Winstead- the cheerleader girl in the Tarantino segment of Grindhouse and Sky High).

Well, that was done so perfectly in the first one, they couldn't do it over again. So the sequels have been far from somewhat-reasistic situations. As will this one, but at this point, I'll just see it to the the character of John McClain again. It'll be over the top, sure, but if it is entertaining, it'll be worth it.

The MPAA is pretty hush-hush about their standards. I believe you can say "fuck" in PG-13 as long as it's used only as a curse word and not with a sexual intent.

"Yippe Ki Aye" is in the trailer and gets cut off, implying that it is in there.
I dunno, what I liked about that line in the first movie is that it wasn't a catch phrase per se, it was a natural response to the terrorist calling him a cowboy, and then it became a catch phrase to everyone who saw the movie.

I will def check this out, I like the other 3. it will be entertaining for the 2 hours I watch it I am sure. Def not a movie that you will leave thinking about, but not every movie has to be like that. there is a place for cheesy action flicks.

The reason I liked the first movie, and why they should have never made any sequels, is because it was tounge in cheek and kind of an anti-action movie. Instead of a Shwartzenegger, Stallone, Segal, Van Dam etc. etc., film where the heros are doing these over the top stunts like they were nothing and happen everyday, McClane was supposed to be a regular guy thrust into a crazy situation. When he did something over the top he almost winked at the camera as if to say "I can't believe I just did that." When you think of Bruce Willis today you probably think Action Star before anything else. At the time I was a big Moonlighting fan and I know I thought to myself: "Bruce Willis is in a fucking action movie? How the fuck is that going to work?"
The catch phrase was another break the action movie mold thing. You want a catch phrase that everyone will be repeating until you're sick of it? We'll give you one that no one can repeat in mixed company and can't be overused. How many times did you hear "I'll be back" or "Hasta la vista, baby"? I think even Reagan or Bush 1 may have used them. Not so much "Yippie Kay Ya Motherfucker", right? The sequels have just been the same action movies that the original tried to go against.

Went and saw this tonight...
I was really really really worried... and then... it was AWESOME!
It gets a little over the top - but never enough to make you completely give up. Bruce is outstanding, the story is excellent (it is sure to be stolen by 24 very soon)... by far the best action movie I have seen in a LONG time...
THRILLED!
Treat yourself!
