Get a Life was my favorite show when I was a layabout college student, which gives you an idea of how bleak the tube was ca. 1992-93 - this was the era of Herman's Head and the Howie Mandel show.

Charlie Kaufman of Eternal Sunshine and Being John Malkovich wrote a couple episodes including the whacked-out time travel episode. Bob Odenkirk wrote the one where they eat the bad shellfish. A lot of episodes were directed by tv has-beens like Tony Dow, Anson Williams and Dwayne Hickman (Dobie Gillis).

Don't buy those DVDs. They are basically bootlegs. It's 3 discs with 4 episodes. Not each disc, a total of 4 episodes.

The Vol 1 and Vol 2 on amazon are legit.

Believe it or not...several years back TV Guide magazine did a list of the top 100 sitcom episodes ever. "Zoo Animals on Wheels" was something like #20.

IMHO "S.P.E.W.E.Y." is hands down the best episode of the show. Just non-stops laughs!!!!
