Not sure if this is the place to vent, but here goes.

I have been trying to have my ex-wife's car removed from my insurance policy. She's moved to Virginia insured and registered the car there. This has been going on for two months. GEICO asks for proof of her coverage I send it. Then they ask for her registration I send it. Then they ask for proof of coverage I send it again with the registration. Then they ask for a plate surrender receipt. There is no plate receipt because the plates were turned into Virginia. I called DMV they say it's not required. GEICO says it is.

Finally this morning I got a supervisor on the phone and completely lost it. Just like every other company they're great selling you shit, but when you need customer service they suck. I'm guessing my problem is solved, but I am shaking at how angry I got. I feel like a fatter version of David Banner. Now everyone in my office is afraid to come near me and I've just been nasty. Hopefully I'll calm down.

You guys are making me feel bad, I worked there for over two years and made sure all my customers got the best service, I guess it's who you get on the phone though too. Sorry to hear it. Just tell them you are going to change companies, They will do anything you want then. They are BBIIIG on retaining customers. Also, not that I am defending them , alot of thier policies regarding things are different than alot of other companies, and because they are a "low cost service provider" they want to keep policies cheap, in the metro area insurance is very high because of all the fraud, so when you get situations like people removing young kids from the policy, or ex's they are very strict. I am sure that you are being 100% honest about your situation, but the lies and stories I heard when I worked there made me not trust alot of the customers, I wont get into it, but I even had people tell me that a loved one died just to get them off a policy. To me that's horrible. If you need any help from this point PM me....look at it this way, nobody will fuck with you in the office now!!!!! What supervisor did you speak to by the way?

whats the big deal with removing someone from a policy ??

other than the fact that it reduces the policy amount and the ins co. will think that other person will still drive

The bottom line is ALWAYS the bottom line. Geico could give two craps about your happiness.

Another major lie is that the employee's are some kind of "family" with the owners being the parents. Like.. if your parents didn't make as much money this year as last year, they'd lock you out of the house and have security escort you out when you try to go get your things :)

I suffered injuries in a bad accident. Repeatedly, my rep claimed she never received requested documents and bills that were fedexed. I finally drove out to Woodbury with every piece of paper they requested, multiple copies of each one. After waiting for two hours someone from the same group, but not my rep, comes out to meet me. I went through the package of paper with her to ensure that the proper claim number and any additional identifying info was correct, and left. Two weeks later, I called to followup, and was told by my rep that she never received the paper work.

This dragged out for over a year. When I was unable to get in touch with my rep, I got a supervisor on the phone, only to find out that my claim had been assigned to the wrong department. My rep never told anyone and ultimately closed the claim. The supervisor had called me back within a couple of hours of our first conversation to tell me this, but to also apologize for the mistakes, and to tell me that all outstanding bills would be paid. I had a check for lost wages in two days.
