View Full Version : I Graduated College!

Well, as of this morning, I finished my last final ever, and proceeded to roll out of the University of Maryland for the last time as a student...and I did it Blasters style.

Its been a long time coming, but I'm just glad everything is over. But I am REALLY going to miss free basketball and football games.

I started college 5 years ago, right after I graduated high school, and worked my way up from Community College to the University of Maryland, and now I'm done. I'm not really sure how I feel yet, because I don't think its really sunk in that its all over. I do feel joy, however, that ive validated every single one of the sacrifices my parents made so that my sister and I could go to college and have a better life and do better things than they had a chance to do. I can't put into words what I feel about my parents, because even though we didn't have a lot materially growing up, we always had love for each other, and i'm eternally grateful for the way they raised me.

Where do I go from here? I would love to work here:

It would be my dream to work there for the next 40 years, and I've got some pretty good contacts through my internship there, so we'll see how it pans out. I've also got some interest in the National Archives too, and both jobs would help me stay here in MD, where I could see myself staying, because I have an honest car mechanic. Other than that...i'll just have to play things by ear.

I would just like to take this opportunity also to thank everyone here at RonFez.net. I've met so many awesome people here on the board, and its also a place that has allowed me to vent and learn new ideas and laugh when I needed to. You guys are the best, and I love you all, especially a certain fellow Sting hater and Simpsons fanatic.

It's great to be alive.....

This is great news! Congratulations. Graduating college is a huge accomplishment I was very proud of myself as you should be of yourself.

You will definitely miss it, and yes, the limited access to sports sucks a lot too. Thank goodness for the internet or I would almost never see an Aggie game. I wish you continued success and luck.

Congrats, Ry!

I attended three different universities and never graduated from one of 'em. I salute anyone who has the patience to sit through all that nonsense.

Good luck in the real world, and never give up chasing your dreams.

Congrats, Budday!

Congratulations man! Let's hope you wind up in the greater Hagerstown/Sharpsburg area! Let me know if you end up where America's bloodiest day took place so I can try to hit you up for free swag (jk).

Maryland's a great school and I'm sure you won't have to look too hard for a job. I'll be thinking about you next time I hit up the Hagerstown Chick Fil-A next time I'm on the way back down to DC (which should be in another week and a half or so.

Hey congrats to my fellow Caps fan! It sounds like your parents did a terrific
job raising you with your great attitude. Best of luck finding a job you love!
(And have you checked for work in Gettysburg? It's pretty close--only 40
minutes from Frederick)

I'm just going back to college now, after graduating 8 years ago and never using my diploma.

At 28, I now know what I wanna do, so hopefully by 40 I will be done with school and can post a thread like this.
