Why wouldn't you admit to using a sample?It doesn't take anything away from the song to admit that you were using a sample to construct the show related thing but not copping to it is a pretty low move....i make sample based music myself and one of the first rules is to at least be honest about what you're doing......I'm a fan of a lot of the stuff you've done for the show but this really bugged me

I don't think Perry was denying using a sample, I think his point was there is a lot more to writing a song than just the chords behind it.  And he was accused of ripping off some stupid website, not of using a sample.

If Perry used a sample then big fuckin deal. If not....big fuckin deal.P.Diddy or whatever he goes by has made a fortune by sampling shit.Perry has songs that, in my opinion, are gold.Sample or not, I can't wait for his own show on Big Ass 203

Hopefully he'll own up to it. It is OBVIOUS that it is the exact same tune (to musicians especially). Perry seems like a nice guy and a good musician but lets call it what it is.

i just went into garage band and picked 70s piano loop #1 and it is exactly the same...which isnt a big deal. i still think perry has great lyrics and singing. i think the reason people are annoyed is that, while he did suggest he sampled or used common chords, i dont think he came out and said "yeah, i just used garage band loops."  i couldnt see that really hurting the quality of the song...but it would do wonders to shut up anyone who is claiming he plagarized. at least he added his own talents to it, which is more than that "big tits for all" website dude did.

I don't use APPLE anything - fuck them.I have NEVER USED GARAGE BAND. When I work with loops and samples I use the ACID program.
