I must admit that when he first started I didn't like him at all. In fact the original reason I joined these boards was to voice my displeasure with him. HOWEVER I now find him completely entertaining and a great asset to the show. He seems to have found his footing with the show and I don't know if he's doing a character or what but everything that comes out of his mouth is so stupid it's funny. I also like the fact that he is by far the most honest person on the show and not afraid to talk about his personal life.

<p>Better than being funny in and of himself, Dave provides a &quot;character&quot; that really fits the show well.&nbsp; I could see a more manic and less subdued Fez making ESD superfluous, but Fez doesn't seem to have the bank of hijinks to draw from as far as stories go.&nbsp; Especially relationship-wise.</p><p>Honestly, with all the crap ESD gets from some quarters, I don't see why people like Earl so much.&nbsp; I think it's a rare show that Earl contributes more humor than Dave.</p>
