This will be fun for the otherwise very serious that's life column,

I was born at 8:00 on a freezing Sunday morning in Indianapolis, Indiana (where my family only lived for a year before heading back to the east coast), and I actually had a really scary birth cause I was born not breeched but upside down as in facing the floor, and not only was the cord wrapped around my neck, I also almost died choking on all the blood and fluids.

Hm, I guess mine's kind of a downer, sorry. But anywhoo, how did you all come into this world?

Just glad your ok, you made it!!!

I was born on a cold day in NJ at a great hospital. Nothing went wrong during my birth. My parents were a little surprised I was a boy. They thought I was going to be a girl and had no name picked out for me as a boy. It took them 3 days to name me. Maybe this is why I dod bitch like a women sometimes???

My mom had an appt with her OB/GYN on March 21, 1967. She had had trouble carrying babies to full term. I was 7 months along so the doctor decided to induce labor. Poor mom had to waddle in a snow storm to Lenox Hill Hospital. At 5:03 pm I was born and whisked away to my own private incubator.

My Dad left for work up North despite it being a blizzard outside. He had asked my Mom repeatedly if she wanted him home for any reason and she said "no".

Half an hour after he left she went into labor and promptly called my Grandmother who in turn called an ambulence.

It took awhile for the EMT to get there with the snow and then bring them back to the hospital. My Grandmother called my Father's job to let him know to come back immediately.

All the while my nubile head is crowning and im halfway out in the elevator. I think they admitted my Mom to the hospital at 9:45am and i was born at 9:56am; February 21st, 1985 in good 'ole Red Bank, New Jersey.

I was born on October 7 sometime in the 70's in Pinellas County FL. My birff parents did not want me so put me up for adoption. I was adopted by my "real" family here in Nutley NJ 2 months after I was born. So I really don't know how or what happend when I came sliding down the shoot. Also I know nothing about Pinellas county since I was only there the first 2 months of my life but by all accounts from Mr. B and Mr. W it's not a nice place. Maybe I'm related to Fezzy... maybe one of you beautiful people are my relative.... HHHHmmmmm.

Some children have health problems and are in need of constant care but for the most part I believe children are more resiliant than people give them credit for. Even with my 3 kids, I've been amazed on so many levels at how much they could with-stand, how well they would adapt and in my littlest ones case..... How well she fought when she was only 16 days old and had to be re-admitted to the hospital.

Children are truly amazing, we just have to show them the way and if we do that right, they'll surprise the hell out of us.

I tell my kids every day that they make me proud. It could be because me daughters dressed their dolls or coloured a nice picture or because my son gets all geared up in a hard hat, knee pads, boots, safety glasses and a tool belt just to help me caulk the shower we installed yesterday.

I was born in a boxcar during an awful rainstorm on the third day of rain. My mother Rose of Sharon had a severe cold and fever. Pa and the others were trying to stop the flood waters from reaching me. When Pa returned to the car he found out that I had been stillborn. Pa said he could not have done anything more. Ma said , "No. They was on'y one thing to do - ever - an' we done it." At least thats what everyone told me happened.

I was born almost exactly 117 years after the Civil War began in South Carolina (to the hour) in Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Maryland (and I lived!). I came out in the manner of the famous Roman tyrant, that is to say, as a section of Ceasar.
